+1 here. 1GB ram ain't going to cut it. babagal ang phone if too many apps are open.

get samsung if you need good quality shots from the camera (mid to high end phones only). if you don't care about the camera then the other brands are good enough for your needs (internet, email, gps).

choose a phone with a high capacity battery too. kung always-on data plan ka hindi tatagal ng 24 hours ang karamihan sa smartphones ngayon.
