when the newest n biggest mall here opened in our area, we promptly opened a branch inside, baka maunahan pa ng ibang hardware. even though the profit is just above breakeven e pwede na, big help to the overall volume sales din naman and its hard to beat the customer traffic a mall provides. if mall rent is too expensive, its best to get a small area first.

I like the malls in the provinces kasi at least may magawa. I'm particularly happy with SM Baguio kasi wala na talaga magawa sa Baguio these days and eating yellow cab pizza in the cold of the night dun sa terrace ng SM Baguio, and sarap!!!

May 18th, 2006 03:03 PM #26IMHO, this would in a way help decongest Metro Manila's clogged roads and bring SM closer to every pinoy's home. It also helps the local economy because instead of coming over to MMla to buy commodities available at SM Malls, doon na lang sa kani-kanilang localities.
It's downside though is the effect it brings to the local business enterprises but this is competition and this will deter also the uncontrollable inflation that other businesses initiate. To me, this would be more beneficial than harmful.
