guys, ever heard this?
this is the reason they are delaying the opening. grabe kung totoo at reclaimed area lang ito.

heard about it, parang some part of the reclamation isn't solid enough after the structure is built...
heard it also, true nga daw, dapat feb25 yung opening. then march then now may or june na.
yup! I can confrim this! yung parang gimikan part nya sa bandang likod basag lahat ng windows kasi medyo tumagilid yung structure

I watched a national geographic episode about Japan, sa osaka ata yun, yun airport nila nasa reclaimed land din. world-class pa din yun airport kahit lumulubog.
That would be the Kansai Airport built in the middle of Osaka Bay using 21 million cubic meter of landfill by taking half the side of a mountain in Japan. It has already sunk more than 8 meters since it opened in 1994 and they use a hydraulic jack inconjunction w/ steel plates to keep the terminals level.Originally Posted by oldblue
The MOA may be in the same predicament but did the engineers contruct an area where it could be raised by a hydraulic jack to keep it level. The engineers in Japan knew that the building would sink so they planned for it. I still wouldn't want to be at the MOA if an earthquake hits because of ground liquification.
actually, yang area na yan eh reclaimed yan. dati dagat yan eh. i remember the time when i was a kid, we used to go walking dyan sa roxas boulevard na untouched pa talaga.
in reclaimation, it is normal for a land to sink into the sea an inch every year. malambot and tambak lang yang lupang yan eh.
Originally Posted by happy_gilmore
