its funny, in one of the multi-cultural classes I attended at work ... in the US, its not polite to ask someone where his children goes to school or where he lives kase malalaman mo more or less his status in life... which is not ideal esp if you don't have a personal connection with him/her...

Parang equivalent ng tanong na kung saan nag-aaral ang anak kung ano ang monthly income mo.

Well, it's up to the posters if they are offended or not with the question... if they are they can just opt not to post a reply.

kanya kanyang paniniwala at kultura yan sir,

sa pinas mas offensive ang pag utot kesa sa pag dighay in public
sa ibang lugar (lalo na sa Europe) ang pag dighay kesa pag utot in public ang mas offensive.

one more reason that's why i am so thankful i decided to go home to the philippines and not live in the US! sa pinas one can ask questions without being labeled as impolite or politically incorrect. sa pinas one can ask questions and the question will be taken for what it is, not for what it can imply. the thread starter was just asking what school our kids go to. maybe we can compare pros and cons of those schools later. and yeah, prices of tuition, too, so maybe we can see what suits our budgets. it is not because we are looking at who can afford more than the other.

before you raise your eyebrows, i was refering to the multicultural class you mentioned, not particularly on your post. i take it as a statement of fact and not necessarilly your opinion.

School: Where do your kids study?
