No experience about the town.
From Sto Tomas, use STAR (southern tagalog access route) exit at Lipa. Then asks around from traffic enforcers the road towards Tiaong Quezon. About 20kms din ito. I suggest, daytime ka lang dumaan dito.
Else, use the regular, Sto Tomas - Alaminos - San Pablo route.
Make sure to pass alaminos - san pablo and tiaong area at noon time, dahil sa tindi ng init kaunti ang trycycle and jeep. Pag 4:00pm and below try to control your temper.
sariaya is about 3 hours. you can use the 2 mentioned routes. the way thru san pablo is shorter but with traffic, while the lipa, tiaong way has les traffic but is longer. so more or less pareho lang ang travel time.
the more popular beach resorts are located in barrio guisguis. the one which i've tried is in barrio talaan called bay watch. nothing fancy about the beach. simple lang at parang probinsiyang probinsiya ang dating. good for rest and relaxation. i'm not too sure about holy week though. balita ko daming tao dito pag ganyang date.
sariaya is in quezon province.. around 3 hours nga ang byahe from manila....
maraming bakasyunista sa quezon kapag lenten season, so baka hindi ka rin makarelaks....but the air is still very fresh on this side of luzon, if thats what you want...
btw sariaya is in quezon province. after san pablo city is tiaong quezon, then candelaria, sariaya then lucena city. it is bounded by mount banahaw and tayabas bay.
The 3 hour estimate is for regular non-peak trips. Inabot na ako dyan ng traffic that lasted for 2 more hours.
pero should you decide to go...ang the best mo option mo ay magstop over ka manila (sleep for the night sa mga kasama/relatives mo) then leave manila around 3 or 4 am...basta dapat before 5am...you'll reach san pablo in about 1.5hrs at most...kasi wala pang tricycle (malas mo lang kung marami pa ring bumibiyahe)...from there sariaya is just about 45min to an hour (tiaong and candelaria na towns na lang)
....im sure mas longer sa iyo kasi you're not familiar sa kurbada ng daan and it is not practical to be running fast on unfamiliar roads.
(BTW the fastest that I have done Angeles to Tiaong was about 3-3.5hrs....left angeles at past 3 am and arrive tiaong before 7am -- mind you I know the route kaya ako ganun kabilis)
Medyo complicated for somebody new sa lugar ang Lipa-Padre Garcia-Tiaong route and it is really a very long route...
Bottomline, i won't recommend it on a holy week trip....mapapagod ka lang.....sabagay para ka na ring nagpinitensya!!!
Another thing the beaches in sariaya is black sand...ang it takes eons to reach the beach front from the main hiway...hassle na hassle ako dun.
lapit lang sa amin..
sa Laiya yan..
kami sa (brgy) Subukin..
sa San Juan..
i have been to the beach pero hindi dun sa resort na yun..
nice sand..
Biybi..
mahirap yang balak mo..
dami pa naman simbahan yung dadaanan mo going to Sariaya..
kung tutuloy kayo..
dapat maaga talaga..
yung wala pang araw..
