Personal items bought abroad are tax free up to a certain amount only.

Up to 500 pesos, duty free. If worth more than 500 pesos, the excess is dutiable.

500 pesos is correct. it started at 50 pesos nga daw.
the regulation is ancient, and the taxman is suggesting it be brought up to date, to a more realistic amount.

If i am the victim specially yung amboy na kinulong pa nila, i surely will sue this mader facker and include the NAIA & DOTC managements. Once na sampa na kaso, get an assasin para ipatumba na agad mga kawatan. Mura lang killers para mga hinayupak na 'to.

LOL bro macsd. i don't like trillanes but i love his measure increasing substantially the salaries of overworked but underpaid government employees (especially yung tumutugis ngayon sa kabundukan ng davao sa mga taong nag kidnap ng tatlong foreigners at ang isang filipina sa samal).

If you absolutely have to walk alone, walk on well-lighted, well-traveled walkways and plan your route ahead of time. Avoid places where attackers might hide (spaces between parked cars, overgrown shrubs, and dark passageways) and areas where you might get cornered. Remember that it is best to walk facing traffic.

I once read that 1 way to safe guard your credit card or ATM is to black out the security number or check digit at the back. But you should remember and write it somewhere hidden.

    I wonder of that's true.

^It should work. But, banks have security feature nowadays to avoid online transactions theft. For instance, BPI has OTP, or one time password, where you will input digits sent to your email or phone before transactions go through.

So regardless whether you have the codes of the cc or not, you should be safe.

    BTT:
As much as possible, avoid withdrawing in malls/stores/or non-bank ATMs. I can enumerate news where hackers have successfully placed skimming devices and these are all non-branch areas.

    Better withdraw in bank's branches.
