    Hi guys,

I am from San Pedro, Laguna and since the toll fee skyrocketed to 154 (from 70, southwoods exit) I am thinking of parking the car at Alabang and just take the bus/Van to Ortigas to save money. Do you guys know of a parking are that is:

    - Open early (say 8am)
    - Safe to leave car for a long time and not too costly (say 8-5)
    - Near transport service (bus/van) to Ortigas/Makati

Thanks po sa mga sasagot :-)

pwede sa Festival Mall or sa may Star Mall alabang...

kaya lang may bayad yan 15 to 20 pesos for the 1st 4 hours tapos 5 to 10 pesos for the succeeding hours...

Why not just take the bus directly to ortigas from San pedro?

These are what the office personnel based in Carmona and San Pedro do. They commute to Alabang then switch to another bus bound for EDSA in Alabang.

Sneaky din si Filinvest by not charging flat rates eh. They could encourage more people to commute by doing so since parking would be cheaper (which is what a lot of QC people do at Trinoma).

isa pa pala disadvantage ng taking the bus at san pedro highway, as what sir niky said it gets on SLEX via susana exit. San Pedro (palengke) to susana exit takes 30 minutes dahil nagpupuno yung bus along the way. Taking the bus at Alabang will save about 30-45 minutes travel time. so yun po ang situation.

Busit kasing slex yan.... from 70 pesos to 154 pesos ba naman kasi :-(

I know it was free before, but with the advent of offices around filinvest...I'm sure everybody took advantage of the free parkings...

Vinj, that would be a good idea to encourage commuting but LGU need to partner with malls..maybe subsidize the parking fees...especially yun mga nasa outskirt na cities...

Cuz since malls are own by private companies Wala sila pakialam Basta magbayad kayo ng parking fee Kung magcommute kayo or anong gawin niyo Wala sila pakialam am, but if LGU will have a program na low rate parking for residents Sa mga malls office hours Lang ha then mas marami mat commute siguro...anyway most malls naman eh Meron ng structures for terminal or something

With the advent of many malls, one thing expected is that a lot stores don't get to pay their rent on time. Instead of evicting them, malls will go for extended/delayed payment terms as less stalls would equate to less people traffic. What then is the cash cow of the mall operator? Parking.

That's the lack of long term planning. We keep pushing for mass transport infrastructure (i.e. MRT/LRT) but there's no parking designated in a lot of these places save for the mall. Metro Manila and Greater Manila is one web of roads so people will still want to take their cars to get to the transport point if possible so as to avoid the tricycle and jeepney ride.

*TS, try also checking out places like SM Las Pinas i guess. If you park at a place, pili ka nalang ng pwesto na malapit sa sekyu or CCTV if there's any. Yung officemate namin sa Carmona, nag kontra nga ng trike to take them daily at a specified time to the sakayan and pick-up pag tinext nila yung driver. They also have a car but due to the toll fees, they only bring it to work when needed. Isipin mo, P 300 daily for toll fees. To think on NLEX, we spend around P133 from Manila to San Simon exit which is significantly further.

Medyo malayo po kasi from highway yung place namin, 2 rides (traysikel then dyip) then saka palang bus. Medyo mahirap pag mainit at umuulan. Nagawa ko na dati mag park sa festival, ok naman but I was wondering if its a good option on a daily basis ~70 yata inabot ng parking. Ok sana sa starmal, kasi dun na din yung sakayang ng bus/van but I am not so sure if its safe there.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Yup. The bus from San Pedro is cheap, and gets on the highway at Susana Heights. And it's easier to get a seat there than to have to put up with the crush at Star Mall, or parking at Festival and then walking a long-ass way down to the road.

BBL has decent service. If you're closer to Pacita, then you're lucky, De La Rosa Transit leaves every fifteen minutes, whether the bus is full or not.

    -

Cheapest parking is South Supermarket. Open at 8 am. Absolutely free. Very secure. But it's far from the bus terminal, so you'll have to walk down to Alabang-Zapote road to take a jeep out to the terminal.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

One of our friends park his car on weekdays in Metropolis, Alabang (umaga and then, babalikan sa hapon/gabi)...

Wala naman siyang kuwento na nangyari sa sasakyan niya....

Ito talaga gusto ko gawin since yung mga sakayan e nandon mismo sa starmall. From our place, Metropolis is 20 mins, comparably traysikel + jeep + bus to susana exit takes 30-40 minutes. If I know na safe naman sa metropolis/starmall parking I won't mind doing this everyday.

I think that it is safe naman, bro... dahil iyon nga ang ginagawa ng isa naming kaibigan/kakilala during workdays... Tanong ka na lang doon para malaman mo kung saan palaging may tao at safe ang parada....
