When I started out. I had an el cheapo Hondo guitar and a Gorilla amp. The worst sound you can imagine. But I was lucky to jam with a lot of great guitar players and learned a lot from them. Later on when I got a job, I bought a Fender Strat, a wah pedal, digital delay, and a metal zone. That's it. I hardly use all three effects since I rely more on a good guitar/amp set up than enhancing it via a stomp box.

If I were you, I'll invest my money on a good guitar/bass and amp. If you're starting out, you don't need those effects for now. I've seen a lot of guitar players with massive effects to "cover" their "sabit" when playing.

Learn the basics first. Then move on. Effects will only do no good if you're a bad player. Plus, you can bring your amp wherever you go. If you have that set-up I assure you, most of your gig will be good. I've played with bad amps and no amount of "effects" will make it good. Don't even rely on the PA system.

The bottom: Get a good sound with a good guitar/amp combo and not rely on effects.

siguro dapat tanungin mo muna ito sa sarili mo...

1. bakit ba ako bibili nito?
2. kelangan ko ba talaga ito?

tapos pag positiva ang sagot mo sa #1 & #2, eto naman, ..
3. ano ba talaga sa dalawa ang KAILANGAN ko?

tapos maghintay ka muna ng ilang araw... hintayin mo na dumating sa point na napapanaginipan mo na yung bagay na gusto mong bilhin. ibig sabihin non, talagang gusto mo at hindi lang spur of the moment.

it's the last thing anybody at this time would want.. a spur of the moment purchase. :D

syempre kung ano yung kelangan mo, yun yung bilihin mo. pero kung pareho mo talaga gusto, piliin mo na lang based sa model ng effects at sa model ng bass n amp. kung mas maganda yung zoom at mumurahin lang yung bass, gaya ng fernando at ng amp, gaya ng hot cabs, yung zoom na lang. pero kung mas maganda yung amp, gaya ng hartke at bass, gaya ng yamaha, yun na kunin mo.

agree ako kay Kram...kung ano ang mas may value yun ang kunin mo... just my opinion, im not a big fan of zoom effects..masyadong electronic lalo na sa mga distortion... ano ba tugtog mo?

had a zoom effect pedal before..ok siya kasi multi effects..pero hayop sa distortion! nakakahiya pag tumutugtog ng live, lalo na kung tahimik!

go with the guitar and amp..ika nga sa taas, get the one with more value..

ndi ko malaman kung ano ang hawak mo... siyempre no matter what you buy, everything relies on the player's hand and skill. no matter how "cool" your guitar/bass, amp or effects are. :D Know first what you need in order for you to grow as a great skilled player. I use a DOD Tec8 MultiFX box coupled with a small >10W Yamaha Amp (pang bahay lang) :D so far ok naman. "work your chops first" my mentor used to say.If you don't know what effects you would like to have (like me long time ago) I suggest you get an MulitFX box. At least you would be able to experiment with different sounds.
