For me, Chot's playing his cards right. Winning the Champions Cup is not the RP Team's primary goal. It was a good learning experience for the team. This shows they need to practice more as a team. I heard they only practiced like 3 - 4 times because the players were also practicing with their mother ball clubs. The team needs to be exposed to International brand of play. They need to unlearn their NBA type one-one plays. The problem with cohesiveness and familiarity will be addressed by joining these international tournaments, exhibition matches, etc. Let's be realistic, we can't have a 12 man dedicated team to represent the country in international competition. The pool of players we have is like having an armory filled with weapons. Chot has the luxury of choosing who and what type of players to field to suit certain tournament.

The team that participated in the recent Champions cup, doesn't have Eric Menk, Danny Seigle, & Jay Jay Helterbrand. There's also Anthony Washington (6'7) and Kelly Williams (6'5) who are showing their wares in the PBL semis right now.

Thoss (6'8) and De Ocampo (6'9) are young project players. Since this a 5+ years Basketball program, imagine what these players will become 2 - 3 years from now. Also they have amateur standouts Espinas, Canaleta, Quinahan, Salvador, JR Reyes, Arwind Santos in the pool. These are 6'5 above players.

Also in the ABC qualifying tournament, the teams that played in Champions cup will be playing sans their 2 imports.
