... of the American Idol classroom. Love it or hate it, Anwar Robinson has been axed today. The friendly, braided, well-groomed maestro from New Jersey didn't have the votes to match his unquestioned singing prowess. First, the tsunamis, then the passing of our beloved Pope, now this; how bad is it gonna be in the future?

The only extraordinary singer is out. What's worse, he was shown the door before the long-staying fatboy, the Russian shortie, one of the girls and any of the rockers. I expected at least a Top 3 finish for him, but sorry to say, discrimination overpowered the true meaning of the term idol. If you're both black and Muslim (or at least your name is), don't even think about winning.

I don't think it's just singing prowess that's involved. So don't jump to conclusions about being a bigot or racist.

I saw his performance and it simply didn't appeal to me. He had less stage presence and his choice of song was not as interactive as the others. If I were voting I too would place him in the bottom three and that's not because he's black. Maybe other people saw what I saw...

imho di dapat matanggal si anwar...at si miko(sp?)...isa na lang ang black na natitira sa mga contestants...

fantasia is also a black person pero nag champion naman siya sa mga nakaraang batch...'ika nga,"weder weder lang iyan"

can't believe the fat boy is still there...

sometimes the underdog mentality of the americans is so.. (or maybe sooo many americans identify with the fat boy so they voted for him.. parang twisted sympathy vote)

    fatboy na sagwa ang mukha,

nun elimanations palang assh0le na yun, remember yung team performance? yung mga contestants were group into three? alam nya magaling bosses nya, kaya iniwan nya yung dalawang groupmates na habang sila nag prapractice. bumalik na sya nun umaga na, at bad trip na bad trip yung groupmates nya. kasi di nila alam ano gagawin nila kasi nga group performance yun.

ok yung kanyang positive attitude na "he rocks" pero medyo overdone. parang compensating for all the schoolyard bullies who made his life miserable.

2 out of the 3 winners of American Idol are Women... so does that mean the voters are ***ist? I don't think its all about the singing, its the stage presence, its the connection with the audience... so don't conclude about the racism part. Weather weather lang talaga yan.

yan ung masama sa AI; ang laking factor ng fan votes, kaya the best singer might not always win. Tignan mo lang last year, ung redhead -- and, prangkahan lang, si jasmine. a lot of people felt na saved by fan votes lang si jasmine trias. pero i guess part of being an "idol" is the ability to draw fans, so...la eh, ganun talaga B)

Thats basically the idea of the show kaya nga American Idol. It doesn't have to be the best singer... of course it helps. But the winner should be able to win over fans with their charisma and stage presence. Lahat tayo may kaya kayang manok. hehehe...

I really anticipated that Anwar will be in the bottom 3 that time, but not the one to be eliminated. Scott isn't extraordinary, nor is Anthony and the rest of the surviving contestants. Anwar is easily better than Kelly and Fantasia, and at least at the same level as Ruben (nothing ***ist there though). Even Simon regretted his ouster. Yes, Anwar was inconsistent, or perhaps he was too good for some of the songs he chose, thus unappreciated. He indeed makes a cheap, ordinary mono speaker sound state-of-the-art. His voice is just as good as the roar of an Italian car engine. Too bad there aren't enough voters to reflect this.

Sayang talaga Anwar. Gustong gusto ko na ma-out si Scott talaga hehehe. I still say Kelly is the best Idol so far. Tinitingnan den sa AI yung x factor eh. tsaka kung malas ka lang sa araw na yun at mejo nde maganda performance mo sorry na lang out ka na talaga. BTW, do any of you guys vote through text? (Globe subscribers only)
basta next matatanggal jan si Scott and Anthony.
    hahaha

tsong, hindi kaya ikaw ang bigot??? two of the american idols are black.. si ruben and si fantasia... i dont know if they are muslim tho...

he is the best technical singer sa group.... pero baka kasi na disappoint yung mga girl voters nya nung medyo lumabas ang ***uality nya... imho feeling ko kasi bading sya e... im not against gay or lesbian ha...

Well, in my opinion he didn't connect with the fans. True he sings well but you simply can't feel it. AI is truly not about singing alone. It's the whole package- voice, dance, image and the like. Look at constantine, he is obvioulsy not the best singer there but for some reason the fans love him.

I am for Bo... He gave me chills!!! He has a great voice and he knows how to perform on stage. Rock on!!!

The Finals will be between Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood. Sila lang ang may X-Factor.

Si Anwar, although technically good, walang dating. As proof: can you imagine yourself listening to the song he sung 10 times and like it everytime? Maybe you would like it the first time you heard it but you wouldn't want to keep on playing it again and again.

In contrast, Bo Bice really sang very well during the last show. Kahit paulit ulit mo panoorin and pakinggan, may dating talaga.

Si Bo at si Carrie lang ang may X-Factor. The AI winner will be decided on who chooses the better song. It will be close.
