This may come a bit too late, but I just have to correct this. Rats are not marsupials. They are rodents.

Lifted this from a quick Yahoo search:

Rodents are placental (or Eutherian) mammals, meaning their young develop entirely within the body of the mother, and the embryo and fetus are nourished via a placenta that connects directly to the mother's circulatory system.

Most living mammals use this system of reproduction, and the group includes rodents, primates, ungulates (cow, horses, hippos, rhinos), elephants, whales, sloths, aardvarks and kitties.

Marsupials give birth to highly undeveloped young, which then move to a pouch where they attack to a nipple and feed on milk until they are large enough to leave the pouch.

Marsupials include koalas, wombats, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils and possums. They are mostly restricted to Australia and South America, with one species also reaching North America.

All of the placental mammals are more closely related to each other than any of them are to the marsupials.
Para on-topic: May nabili ako dati sa Robinson's Handyman Farmers Plaza na spring-activated mousetrap, Victory brand, (made of wood and metal), which can catch small to medium sized rats. Medyo mahirap nga lang i-set yung spring.

Yung flytrap ok din sana, kaya lang, rats get used to its scent and evade it. I was able to catch 4 at most in 1 flytrap.

    i have both.

since i bought these units, talagang nawala ang daga, isip at iba pang insects.

There's a rat inside our house again! My Mom first saw it near the bathroom window, chewing through the screen. We thought it was not able to get in but apparently it did because it is now in our living room! It's color black! 5 years ago, a rat entered our house through the same bathroom window Bakit kaya dun parati? Outside our house it is clean naman though our backyard is gubat. Could that be the reason?

We had to keep all the food inside the ref and plastic boxes. We tried using Thomas Cowan pero di na dumikit. I can't use poison because of my dogs. I have not seen any of those mouse traps in Ace.

Meron nun malaki kahit kuting mahuhuli..

Wasn't there a pest control product that electrocutes mice/rats? If it gives off sparks parang delikado.

Spring loaded traps and racumin works well in my experience. In an earlier thread a poster suggested using bagoong as bait, you can coat the main bait with it, rats supposedly can't resist the smell.

Racumin works well enough, but it could get messy/smelly. But imho better get rid of the rats asap before they take up permanent residence.

    Naalala ko lang:

    - my uncle kept big dogs once. At night they'd hunt rats, then drop them in front of my uncle, waiting for a reward. Odd thing is they were never trained to do so
    - one time there was this rat that was going through the death throes after eating racumin. Yung kapitbahay ko kinuha pa yung air rifle niya(the types that use CO2 used for hunting birds) and shot it point blank. Sure glad it wasn't a shotgun :D

Yung pinakaeffective for me ay yung may pandikit.
