It doesn't matter in the long run. As the population of the Philippines continues to increase there won't be any room for endangered animals. Trying to save animal species without controlling human population growth and the resulting climate change is a waste of time and a distraction from the real problem.

Asian countries need tougher law enforcement... This is just sad.

From gourmand Philippinos, to self-destructive politicians, the world is full of examples of people relying on the the pre-cognitive parts of their brains in an age of computers and rockets to the moon.

Philippine fisherman catch and eat a megamouth shark
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25304876-2,00.htmlA MEGAMOUTH shark, one of the world's most elusive species, was caught, carved up and eaten by fishermen from a town in the Philippines, the environmental conservation group WWF said today.
So rare are megamouth shark sightings that each find is given a number - this one, caught by fishermen from the coastal town of Donsol - was the 41st ever seen or captured in the world.
But Elson Aca, a Donsol WWF representative, said it was butchered and its meat sauteed in coconut milk as a local delicacy, against the organisation's device.
talaga naman, oo oh!
mods: I won't make a new thread, dito ko na lang ilagay medyo related naman.

I'm not sure if I'm correct, but a lot of Filipinos who live in the provinces have a distinct penchant on consuming wild, rare, if not extinct, animals.
Some say, wild boar taste better than cultured swine.
Monitor lizard taste like chicken meat.
Well, I'm certain there are a lot more incidents of this nature that's not been widely known.
I just hope those people in the rural areas will be informed and educated as to the importance of preserving our wildlife.
in fairness to the fishermen, it's stated that the shark died during captivity before being eaten.
sana pinakawalan nalang nila in the first place!![]()
