    my 1997 nissan sentra had glass headlight assembly.
    unlike many of today's plastic lenses, it doesn't degrade over time.
    but i can imagine the potential harm when it cracks into multiple sharp shards, in vehicular accidents...
    ah well...
    evolution...

    i already had the opportune to replace two of our cars' plastic headlight assemblies, due to the plastics' degeneration.
