If I may share my experience, I brought my earplugs plus earmuffs. That solved my problem. I know it's awkward, but this is my solution whenever I want to concentrate on whatever I'm doing on my table.

A good excuse for me for not answering the phone, when the nearest person doesn't want to answer it while the said person is just checking the Facebook contents.

You made me LOL! I'm going to look like an idiot wearing that in the office. hahaha! Reminds me of the film "There's something about Mary" There's a character that always wears earmuffs and does not want it touched.

if cathy wore those to the office, the other folks may take the hint and speak in whispers for a month.

hahaha! My pet peeve is noise and noisy people. I am extremely quiet and reserved in person. Opposite of my persona on the board :P
