i just saw an ad promoting PH tourism, featuring Kawasan Falls in Cebu.

The guy backflipped off a bamboo raft....his head landed just inches away from it

The ad also featured the guy seemingly jumping off one of the cliffs/falls.

i've been told that the area is "taw-an" or enchanted. Even if you don't believe in that, a few people die annually there -- a combination of the ice cold waters and a strong undercurrent. Some who did that dive never came back up.

yup, tons of stories like that actually. majority of the deaths belongs to the tourists/strangers who are not aware of the surroundings, or should we call them simply stupid?
the locals then warn tourists; "mag ingat kayo at taon taon may kinukuha diyan."
and so there goes another 'victim of the year',,, sino? anong nangyare? turista, tumalon,,, lasing.

There is also this mantayupan falls in Barili, Cebu which is rumored to have a giant squid feeding on humans. I have never been there as I got so scared when my father told me about that story.
