actually the lesson has been conveyed years ago in Brad Pitt's the Fight Club.

we have to co-exist with the poor and squatters and the neglected in order to ensure mutual survival. kasi they have to do the dirty works or the menial jobs.

so for those who are so quick to judge na itapon ang mga QC squatters na yan sa basura or sa probinsya, sigurado bukas maraming business sa QC ang poorly-manned.

what we should focus our attention to is Ayala. this Spaniard has so much greed in his heart, hindi pa nakuntento sa Makati at gusto pa ang QC.
yun nga lang magtayo sila ng flyover directly to the Fort from Makati pero walang malinaw na flyover from QC to the Fort just shows how greedy these people from Makati are.

Yun din ang problema, most of the minimum wage earners and informal wage earners live in these colonies. Pag inalis mo sila paano sila papasok sa trabaho. We need these people to work in our factories, malls, construction, etc. I don't see how they could possible afford paying for legitimately owned lodging with their wages. Good if the people they work for provide quarters for them to live in but where will their families live?

Meron talaga yung iba.

People living in New Manila area would have noticed those evicted ILLEGAL SQUATTERS that are literally living in the middle of the street. Not only are causing inconvinience in a big way to legitimate home owners, but they are endangering the public with their illegal utility connections. It's ANARCHY.

QC Gov't Urges Informal Settlers to Accept its Relocation Proposal
    By CHITO A. CHAVEZOctober 4, 2010, 5:13pm

MANILA, Philippines – The Quezon City government appealed Monday to the 115 urban poor families occupying the sidewalks of the Sixth and Seventh Streets in Barangay Mariana to accept or “entertain the city’s proposal’’ as the National Housing Authority (NHA) has yet to provide the city with any allocation for their relocation.

On orders of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, the informal settlers were evicted from a 7,000 square-meter private property in the area last Aug. 11 which resulted in violent clashes between law enforcers and the settlers.

Tadeo Palma, secretary to the Quezon City mayor, said in the absence of any relocation, the Urban Development and Housing Act (UDHA) of 1992, or the Lina Law, provides qualified informal settlers with financial assistance that is equivalent to two month’s salary of the prevailing minimum wage.

“What the city government is doing right now is implement the law,” Palma said.

Since their eviction, the families were forced to use the streets as temporary resettlement site as their presence has already been the subject of mounting public complaints in the area, prompting the city government to issue a call for them to vacate the area soon.

“Hindi po kayo pwedeng manatili sa kalye nang matagal na panahon. Mayroon po tayong mga batas na dapat sundin (You cannot stay on the streets for long. We have laws to follow),” Palma said.

In an earlier dialogue, Palma also called on the informal settlers to look for a possible site which can be developed as a community mortgage project (CMP), adding that the city government is willing to assist them in negotiating with the property owner.

Mayor Herbert Bautista has repeatedly underscored the importance of providing a significant and sustainable housing program for the city’s poor, especially those who are occupying danger zones and other high-risk areas.

He has formed a special task force headed by Palma on housing to oversee the transformation of blighted areas in the city into livable and safe communities.

Joining Palma in the regular dialogues were the city’s urban poor affairs office (UPAO) chief Ramon Asprer, Task Force COPRISS (Control, Prevention and Removal of Illegal Structures and Squatting) head Marlowe Jacutin and Marlyn Espiritu, a representative from the Commission on Human Rights.
Goodluck na lang sa property owner, if they can find one in Metro Manila.

At his age, the only land he'll really need is a few square meters in size and 6 feet deep.

You gotta wonder where this Wilfredo Torres gets the money to secure a favorable decision based on a spurious land title and hire a hundred of QC's Finest (read: PNP) to serve a writ of possession issued by the court which rendered the decision.

Wow. And they think squatters are the only ones who fight back when their homes are threatened? Let's see the PNP try to evict LEGITIMATE LANDOWNERS who acquired their property thru blood, sweat and tears. Baka maging ubusan pa ng lahi ang labanan.

He's an alleged coddler of squatters and controls the lands they are on (Even if he doesnt own it). Squatters = Votes.

Your guess is as good as mine.
