By the way Irwin Schiff is Peter Schiff's dad... Peter Schiff is a very well known Austrian economist... Ako din my economic thinking is Austrian school. I think Keynesian economics is flawed and its showing right now...

    This literally made me LOL!

I don't comment too much on squatters anymore. I had an I wish the earth would swallow me whole moment when my Tita and I were talking about how squatters area are an eyesore when I suddenly realised that our driver lives in a squatters area. I was so embarrassed. I don't get how he'd live there when he gets at least 10k net per month.

The nerve of those "landlords". They don't own the land they are renting out. I don't get it. Isn't 10k net enough to rent a decent apartment?

Meron ba may idea sa hierarchy of the poor kasi may napanood ako na docu na kumakain ng dagang Maynila yung mga squatter tapos yung iba hindi na kumakain.

LOL!

I think some are "forced" to live in colonies because mahirap mag hanap ng cheap housing with a good location close to work. There's a dilapilated apartment beside us that's prone to floods but always fully occupied. May isang unit crowded by 5 employees from ABS-CBN.

He only told me about his son who owns a jeepney. His wife works as a seamstress. Not sure how many kids he has but he looks and acts very decent not like how squatters are stereotyped on TV.

What I can't fathom is if a man earns 10k net month and lives in the squatters area, how much more for those who do not work at all? How the hell do they survive??? They can't eat rats the whole time.
