IMHO, it's "combustible" mixture of things: the fence, the undisciplined PUV and PV drivers, the pedestrians, the number of vehicles traveling along EDSA, the traffic people (those who cause traffic and those who declog traffic), the width of the road (proper urban planning decades ago would probably have solved this), the malls (everytime SM North or SM Megamall has a sale, the traffic worsens), the condition of the roads (altough DPWH started doing something about this), plus some other factor that I might have skipped.
It works both ways.
Madami sa may section ng edsa to magallanes from ayala private cars pupunta sa pang yellow lane dahil sa traffic. Wala rin kc nanghuhuli dun.
ang magandang tanong dyan, baket pa kinailangan pang magkaroon ng pink fences? why would anyone think about putting them up in the first place? 'coz a lot of people -- PUV drivers, private car owners, pedestrians, etc. -- don't have enough self-discipline, kaya we need someone to enforce the law.
i don't agree with a lot of BF's ideas, but at least he's doing something about the traffic problem. just wish he'd consult some more people before doing it...
Yup, but buses are way bigger than cars therefore occupy more space coupled with these thick skinned drivers who occupy 2, 3 or sometimes 4 lanes to get passengers, we have a traffic nightmare. I've seen some buses who are half, sometimes carry 1/4 or their full capacity, something must be done about this but I'm not hoping for the best.Originally Posted by chris_d
On the other hand, on the SLEX the concrete barriers do help in some cases. But not these pink pences. They couldnt even add reflectors! Somebody may have earned millions through these deals.
IMHO, they have the yellow lane laws turned around. Buses stay on yellow lanes, not everyone else stay off.
I understand needing to keep traffic confined to the proper lanes, but providing absolutely NO TURN-OFFs for four kilometers of Cubao!!???!!! It's absolute madness!!! I had to travel an extra six or seven kilometers to get back to my apartment... ONE hour in traffic for a trip that was actually less than a kilometer. I was so disgusted I wanted to park in the middle of EDSA and walk home.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
para sa akin it's the implementation of Law yan. if the law is strictly implemented, people just have to abide. take for example, tayong mga pinoy pag napupunta to other countries like Singapore, di ba we follow the rules kasi nga takot tayong ma fine a ma preso, it is because of the strict enforcement of the law. no corruption is allowed, i mean walang lagay. pag naglagay ka, puwede kang arestuhin ng pulis for bribery. just for my 2 cents

if im not mistaken, MMDA has the means/ppl/logistcis to make the fences themselves, the only thing ata kailangan nila is your raw bakal at paint.
we know firsthand mga bus naman talaga nag papatrik, not because because malaki sila, but because sila nag crecreate ng chokepoints/bottlenecks, pag huhinto sila.

Kasalanan nila pink sila! aahahaha
well, another experiment that went down the drain. Isa pang experiment ang nde ko magets. U-turns. minsan lalong napapatagal travel because of it. Some roads are better off without the uturns i think. pero back to the pink fences!!
pero if consider it sa overall effective sya,
He he he!!![]()

I don't know if you guys will agree but I have two (2) draconian solutions to the PUV discipline problem:
1. Caning - for reckless and habitual violators of traffic laws (at least 10 lashes for every violation)
2. Castration - instead of license revocation (to prevent their ilk from propagating)
