Hi swordsman. As long as the police can prove in a court of law that the unlicensed gun belongs to you (fingerprints, witnesses, etc.), then you would be in big trouble indeed. For legitimate self-defense, the best thing to do is acquire a licensed firearm and apply for a PTC. One gun store I went to didn't even require presentation of proof that my life is under verifiable threat.
thanks mikey177...before meron akong PTC, but after a couple of months na nakuha ko, ni-cancel ng PNP all issued PTC. sayang nga e. medyo mahal pa at mabusisi(kelangan pa mga affidavit ba yon) nga nung nagtanong ako..i think last year...not sure though kung magkano na ngayon, at sabi mo nga mas medyo maluwag. bigal kasi ako napaisip with the rampant carjackings nowadays, na hindi can carnapping but to the point na tututukan ka na ng baril.
For home protection, nothing beats a shotgun. Either 12 gauge or 20 gauge. You don't need to aim properly, just point and shoot.Originally Posted by Wouie
For personal, 45 cal is the best but your limited to how many bullet you can load up to the gun, 1911 only have seven rounds on the magazine, para-ordinance make a 1911 with 13 rounds magazine but the grip is thick. 9mm is a good choice, not much of a recoil (specially balance gun like Sig or Glock), Sig it think uses 13 rounds magazine, and I'm sure glock (I got 2 of them, 17 & 19) got 15 rounds magazine with extender you can carry 17 rnds + 1 in chamber. Couple that with one of best bullet available like subsonic Federal +P+ hydrashock hollow point, you're in business.
12k pag may fixer. wala ka na gagawin kundi punta sa crame to affix your signature sa PTC i.d..
too expensive! i remember the days na 2t langOriginally Posted by konde

sir konde, i'm interested in getting a ptc. do you have any ideas who can we talk to? TIA =)
I don't see the point of obtaining PTC pag wala naman threat sa buhay mo. Usually, PTC are given to individuals who are at high risk(death threat, businessman, etc.) and also gun club enthusiasts who often join shooting competitions. Sa hirap ng panahaon ngayon, people should be more practical than showing off their weapons to others or intend to make their weapon as means of courage & protection. Remember, even if you have PTC, it doesn't mean you can bring your weapon to any place nor show it to anybody else in public. Be discreet!
13k for a ptc says a salesclerk at shang (6th Flr)... done in 2 weeks, all they need is an nbi clearance.
masakit bang tamaan ng airsoft? im eyeing a Glock 18 airsoft pistol.
someone said to me na mas exciting ang airsoft pistol (lalo na kung nasa isang building kayo naglalaro)
also mahirap bang mag pa transfer ng PTC? (baka kasi may ipamana sa akin na bangbang si erpats eh) someone said to me (also) kung sa house lang ang baril mas ok kung loose na lang...marami pa daw chuva ek ek kung transfer.

oo masakit...pasa-pasa ka kung tumama sa bare skin. kahit naka-layer yung damit mo masakit pa rin but tolerable. just don't play with those lamers who go full auto. also go with safety glasses/goggles (yung clear na industrial ha, not any old sunglasses) and a helmet.Originally Posted by kimpOy
kahit paano the airsoft will slow the perpetrator.
one more Q, let's say na checkpoint ako at nakitang may airsoft ako (pistol or rifle)
mas masakit ang tutoo!whatever the sport as long as you get your trigger time sarap!
