Ano po ang magaling na brand ng handgun for protection; should be reliable and easy to use. How much is it including PTC? I'm considering 45 or 9mm.

depends on purpose if pang home protection or for competitive shooting.
for beginners, ok na starting piece yung cz 75 9mm, gawang czech iyon and proven na rin. dati nakakakuha noon ng below 30K due to an apparent supply deal with the pnp that eventually went sour. pero wala nang ini-issue nowadays na ptc or yung permit to carry, permit to transport na lang which has an expiration, aside from the gun license.
ok din daw yung daewoo, and yes its korean, though hindi pa gaanong proven ang track record.
stay away na lang from norinco...

I don't see the real use of carrying fire arms in cars..... other than Power tripping on the people who cut them off or looked at them "funny" or honked at them incessantly.
If you are ambushed by armed men, dba fish in a barrel ka naman talaga sa kotse? if they wanna kill you, you are dead anyways. you have limited angles of attack and is immobile.
Well, you do have an advantage over unarmed motorists like me
pero, if you have bullet proofing and can afford an escort full of armed men... then ciguro pwede pa

permit to transport is issued to allow you to transport your firearm outside of your residence to the firing range or to bring it to a gunsmith. baka po yung "ptcfor" na inoffer sa inyo sir bilog is yung permit to transport.
mukha pong mahal masyado yung 10-11K for a permit to transport. mas madali pong maka-avail ng permit to transport if you're a member of a gun club - encouraged po kasi ang membership sa ganito kasi it's a good way to monitor gun-owners and it provides people the much needed training, both on skills and discipline, needed in owning a gun.
sir BD, that's exactly why wala na pong ptc, kasi naging marami na ang incidence ng paggamit ng firearms during fits of rage - sabi nga nila, carrying a gun does not imply that you have a motive to shoot another person, but it presents an opportunity for abuse.

Issuance of Permit-To-Carry (PTC) is suspended indefinitely to civilians but there's always an exepmtion to the rule... if u can show valid proof that your life is threatened, then u can apply for a PTC.. legally, it will cost you 7-8k for 1 year... kung ipapaayos mo lang, aabutin mga 10k up...
sometimes, you really need to carry a gun for protection.. lalo na kung kailangan sa trabaho like if u always carry large sum of cash...

bro, hindi ako expert sa baril, pero expert ako sa COUNTERSTRIKE. hehehehe.
on your question, i think ang mai-aadvise ko lang is that you get a 12 gauge shotgun. allowed ata civvies to get this for protection. tsaka you really don't require gun handling skills to use one, in case of emergencies.
ooops... late, hindi ko nabasa yung post mo. kailangan mo pala handgun.... a 9 mm works best for self defense. mas kailangan mo ng quantity over stopping power.
i was a priority nga nung nag-renew ako as an OFW. but walang available license card...tatawag na...
Driver's License Renewal Process?
