    Nakit ko lang
sana matuloy to. lapit lang samin nito

    ---

“That has to be studied. We get the general idea. It will bring in business and promote tourism, may multiplier effect ang ganoong project (but) we have to study it first.”

did Disney ever approach the Phil. govt?

why would disney build another disneyland kung 1 and 45 min away lang yun isang disney. the reason why Disneyland was built in HK was to cater mainland Chinese. kakagaling ko lang sa HK Disney last week at puro mainlanders ang kasabay ko.

    ------

may approval-approval pa as if naghihintay ng govt approval ang Disney

Who ever wrote that article doesn't understand between "we approve" and what Valte actually said, which is "we have to study it first. "
Most probably it came from the kangkongman's press office..

Words like "I will consider it." "Let me think about it." Let us study it." politely means no. Pero sa pinoy, it means yes...

Hangang wishful thinking makukuha diyan. Remember the 45 kph for buses in EDSA released by publicity hungry Roxas months ago...yep its also in the garbage.

Most probably pag tinanong Disney mismo, yung sulat ni Kangkongressman ay nas dead letter department...

It is not economically viable to open a "Disneyland" theme park in the Philippines.

There is not enough "local" visitors to justify its operation.

We do not have enough foreign tourists either. Just look at the annual number of visitors for the Philippines and compare that number to other countries like Thailand. We are not even close.

Our airports in Manila cannot handle the potential increase in arrivals if we do build a theme park to attract more visitors. It is already operating a capacity right now. To expand the airport capacity, we need more land and it seems the best option is either to built it at Clark or somewhere between Clark & Metro Manila. Yet there is no political will to expand our airport's capacity because we lack that "long term view" that many other asian countries have invested into their national development.

Personally, I want to have a bigger and better airport for Manila (or outside Manila if that is what it takes). The common reason of "it is going to be far from where I am" is not an justified reason. Giving such a new airport will be built outside Manila, planning it to have a dedicated rail link to a city terminal (for check-in, etc) should be just part of the plan for passenger convenience. Add direct links to the MRT, bus and taxi.

We don't have to go far to find an example because Hong Kong's airport has just that kind of feature.

Only downside right now would be the current MRT's security policy that doesn't allow large bags (luggage) abroad the trains.

the headline could be "Disney to build Disneyland in PH"

Palace wants to study plan to build Disneyland in Pampanga
    so after studying? tapos?

    may plano ba ang Disney?
