unfair naman. why would they prevent people from finding a new job after getting axed from the old one?
The company has invested much in training a particular employee to meet or exceed its established standards of excellence. Therefore, it would be highly unethical for a former employee to immediately use his/her training for another company which is a direct or indirect competitor of the previous one. Ideally, the individual has to wait for a period of one year before seeking employment in another company within the industry.Originally Posted by nugundam93

Well, let's just wait and see na lang.

Pag ito, totoo, babagsak nga ang Dos niyan!![]()
oo nga, kasama ba sya? hindi ko nga alam kung anong meron yang karen na yan at kinuha pa ng dos. hindi pa marunong magkomentaryo sa radyo.Originally Posted by wowiesy

sigurado hataw ratings nila hehehe
Nope. If you're talking about DJ Sta. Ana, he stays. Word is that he'll be working under Charrie Villa, who replaced Jing Magsaysay.Originally Posted by FrankDrebin

CONTRASTING SITUATIONS BETWEEN ABS-CBN & GMA 7
Veteran news and current affairs talents and personnel of ABS-CBN have been reportedly "forced to retire" as part of the company's cost-cutting measures. But another reported reason for their apparent removal was that ABS-CBN decided to seriously rebuild its news organization to earn credibility and integrity. This was probably the reason why, except for David Jude Sta. Ana, former GMA News and Public Affairs personalities who were pirated by ABS-CBN some years ago, were asked to stay on.
If ABS-CBN wants to earn credibility, it should observe how things are done over at GMA News and Public Affairs. Known for its responsibility and credibility, GMA News and Public Affairs is also the only Philippine broadcast news organization with an Ethics and Editorial Manual, which its personnel strictly adhere to.
While ABS-CBN reportedly offered a retirement package of three months for every year of service, that cannot compare with the job security and compensation currently being enjoyed by GMA Network employees.
Last year, GMA-7 people were said to have received 4 months of bonus on top of the required 13th month pay. This year, it looks like GMA employees will receive more.
Heads are rolling over ABS-CBN while in contrast, more job vacancies are opening up at GMA-7 with the latter's expansion projects now in full blast.

Alam ko matataas din ang pa-suweldo sa Dos, pero sa Siyete pala, hataw ang bonus nila last year! 4 months!![]()
bogeyman: but what about other jobs? taking call centers as example...after you resign (assuming na under normal circumstances naman), pwede naman straight to other call centers, so dun lang naman ako nagtaka.
baka medyo sensitive ung positions nila sa dos; they might know some internal stuff that dos is afraid may be used against them.nugundam93: but what about other jobs? taking call centers as example...after you resign (assuming na under normal circumstances naman), pwede naman straight to other call centers, so dun lang naman ako nagtaka.
it's not altogether a new thing. nung pag graduate ko, there was this software development company na me clause sa employment contract that should the employee resign, he/she cannot seek employment in another company engaged in the same line of business for the next 3 years.
on one hand, unfair talaga; on the other hand...ba't ka naman pipirma? ;)
by law, ABS-CBN is only required to give its employees 15 days per year of service if they want to cut jobs. in giving the 3 months, they have attached a few requirements, (like no working for gma 7) which is their perogative naman. if an employee does not agree, they can always take the 15 days (or maybe it is 30 days now?) required by law and then they can go work for gma 7
andy
we inquired sa ad rates (primetime) ng 2 channels nun 2003...
ABS-CBN 30second rate - P110,000
GMA7 30second rate - P49,000
im not sure kung yan yun exact figures pero around ganyan
AFAIK, the call center industry is not nearly as sensitive as the media industry. Broadcast networks, especially the two leading ones, are aggressively expanding via significant spendings on manpower, equipment and training. Lalo na sa news division, kung sino yung mas maganda ang training, mas high-tech ang equipment at magaling ang tao, sila ang nakakakuha ng scoop/exclusives.Originally Posted by nugundam93

I suppose ibang usapan na yun if you're transferring from ABS to, say Fox for example, since hindi naman sila competitors eh.
