The relief operation has been moved back to villamor. The col is asking our #oplanhatid volunteer group to please set up again. They are desperate for volunteer drivers. If you can help, go to gate 5 ASAP. Look for Juancho. They have 500 evacuees now and 4 flights coming in tonight.. J. Deakn

She should realize that Villamor Airbase belongs to the government, not her. Her husband is just our employee.

Colonel and above ranks in the military are usually millionaire despite the very small salary, ie crooks. Their wife behaves the same, feeling entitled.

Catfight over who gets to help Yolanda evacuees?

The story behind it is ugly. It got some officials scratching their heads. Government social workers "packed their bags" because of a turf war with the Philippine Air Force Officers' Ladies Club – wives of PAF officials referred to as the "ladies," according to a volunteer.

Oplan Salubong was set up at the airbase in Pasay to help the typhoon survivors who fled to Manila – they were fed, sheltered, offered free calls, among others. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the ladies, and hundreds of other volunteers joined the efforts.

"The DSWD is technically the one [that] should be in charge, but since Villamor is the home of the Air Force, the ladies simply would not want to be overshadowed," volunteer Junep Ocampo told the Philippine Star.

Nag-volunteer ako kaninang afternoon and was able to drop a family of 3 in Dasmarinas, Cavite. so far worth it lahat ng hirap. i'll try to be back at 3am for the graveyard shift. Thanks to Mr. James Deakin for the free copy of C! Magazine to ease the burden of waiting.
