amazon would accept locally issued cards .. the philippines has such a poor credit rating .. BB ata or mas mababa .. which means that we're more likely to not pay our obligations .. kaya wala ang philippines sa list ng paypal .. credit risk kasi pinas .. kaya na rin medyo umiiwas investors ..

pero patayan din yung cost of shipping internationally .. kaya kahit mura yung bili mo sa internet .. baka naman bawi-bawi lang sa cost of shipping .. not to mention kung maharang pa yung item sa post office at singilin ka ng duties ..

careful kayo sa mga phishing attack/site. my mom got an email supposedly from Amazon, the email had a link which sends you to a login page which looks legit, it mimicked the log in page of Amazon quite well with few details missing, even the address fooled me(it was like secure.amazon.some giberish.com......). i checked the header(it came from ebay) and i traceroute the address of the phishing site came from Beijing,Guangdong province, china.

makesure you check the header and the address bar. baka makuha nila ang password ninyo.

when directed to your credit card information page, make sure it shows: https://
(with "s" on the address bar) that means you are directed to a secured page na.

korek po miss v-dub. one other way would be to look for the lock icon (usually on the bottom right corner; on older netscape browsers it's the key icon) of the browser window. you can double click it at look at the security/certificate details

bare minimum yan..if not, your credit card #'s being transmitted in clear text. any hack with a sniffer can get it

Twice pa lang ako naka bili online - 1 is for an eBook (can't remember kung san site) and another 1 is for camera lens (from amazon). For the camera lens I used the padala system. Pay it with my Philippine issued credit card and have the items shipped to a friend in the US na uuwi this December. Ayus naman, safe naman sa amazon. Nasa Pinas na nga yun items pero ako wala pa e.
