    magkaiba ang holden at sakbayan pare...

    yung sakbayan pattern after the VW thing, somehow connected yata ang VW sa production ng sakbayan...also ang alam ko PLDT ang gumagamit ng sakbayan noon

    The VW Country Buggy/Sakbayan was launched 2 years ahead of the VW 181 "Thing".
    The VW Sakbayan is based on the VW Country Buggy of VW Australia, which was first introduced in late 1967.

    Australian VW Country Buggy


    When production stopped in Australia in the early 70's, production was transfered to the Philippines. Early models were CKD units from Australia.

    Remember the 1970-76 Ford Cortina MKIII


    I was lucky to have seen and ridden our family's MkIII Cortina before it had to go.
    I used to see a few of them back in the early 90's, but now they are rare.

    Naabutan ko pa yung remnants ng Torana tsaka yung mga Sakbayan ng PLDT. Pero madami pa ring Ford vehicles nun, especially the Cortina, Escort and Fiera.
