Guadalupe Bridge was narrower, resulting in a bottleneck. Now it is wider but the bottleneck is caused by buses at the bus stop.

I was there in 1979. I didn't care much for basketball although I remember playing futbol at the UST soccer field during weekends.

I also remember the airport as Manila International Airport. I still refer to it as MIA. Great memory of the place. When I left, there were so many little groups of people who saw me off and none of them knew each other. Some had secrets (to this day) that would have shocked my mom. But, hey. They were nice to me. Therefore, I was nice to them. I didn't care where they came from.

That looks familiar. Is that Greenhills? When I was there, I was constantly looking for hobby stores that sold scale model kits. Greenhills and Magallanes (QUAD) were two places that had them. One of the stores was known as Fontana's I think.

It was Virra Mall in Greenhills when it first opened back in 1979. Unfortunately time, fire and poor management, the building fell into disrepair in the 2000s. The model shop you are referring to was Nova Fontana in Shoppesville.

I remember when the Lady Fontana herself personally managed the branch at the QUAD Complex in Makati. I would guess that branch closed and they consolidated in Greenhills. My friend and I were frequent customers. There really were no other hobby shops in the Metro area that were as complete as Nova Fontana's.

First, it was just Fontana (Makati). Then it became Nova Fontana (Greenhills) as in New Fontana. Makes sense to me.
