Big American cars used to roam the streets of Metro Manila. Before the energy crisis hit.
HUGE gap between cars. These days, distances measured in inches.
Guadalupe Bridge was narrower, resulting in a bottleneck. Now it is wider but the bottleneck is caused by buses at the bus stop.
Ford Cortina (in front of the mini bus) with distinctive "coke bottle" design.
Toyota Corona taxi (lower right of photo). Coronas were smaller then.
Escolta heydays
Can you name them?

I was there in 1979. I didn't care much for basketball although I remember playing futbol at the UST soccer field during weekends.
I also remember the airport as Manila International Airport. I still refer to it as MIA. Great memory of the place. When I left, there were so many little groups of people who saw me off and none of them knew each other. Some had secrets (to this day) that would have shocked my mom. But, hey. They were nice to me. Therefore, I was nice to them. I didn't care where they came from.

atoy co, bogs adornado, philip cezar, abet guidaben...and bernie fabiosa (?)
I remember when the Lady Fontana herself personally managed the branch at the QUAD Complex in Makati. I would guess that branch closed and they consolidated in Greenhills. My friend and I were frequent customers. There really were no other hobby shops in the Metro area that were as complete as Nova Fontana's.
First, it was just Fontana (Makati). Then it became Nova Fontana (Greenhills) as in New Fontana. Makes sense to me.![]()
