Highway 54 (aka edsa) back in the late 1950s

btw, edsa was originally named highway 54 because it was 54 meters wide & it was completed in 1954. That's what i read anyway. [emoji4]

Based on the street signs in the pic, i believe this is now the edsa-buendia intersection since ayala ave then was a runway.

    I may be mistaken though.

do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do

is that the simbahan on the far semi-right, beside bachrach bldg near un?

That's near Philippine Women's(?) University, correct? I had to walk all the way back there and get aboard an inbound bus because the outbound buses were already full by the time they got to my stop.

Jai Alai is a Basque game. No surprise your lolo's brothers loved it. Sadly, for my dad.[emoji38] Who was a daily bettor. Jai Alai was banned in the 80's by Cory Aquino and the Jai Alai Building was demolished sometime in the 2000's.

I think there's still Jai Alai in Cagayan Valley.

the big question is, who machinated the demolition of the jai alai bldg?
it's a national heritage bldg and should have been protected by the government.

from where the picture was taken, one has to cross Isaac Peral (now UN), P Faura, and pedro gil (nee Herran), to get to PWU.
