The mini buses rarely showed up when I got done with my classes early and they weren't around when I got done after dark.
During the day, I chose the big buses. I got off at Zapote and took a jeepney home from there.
If I got done with class at night, I rode a Baclaran jeepney. From Baclaran, I rode another jeepney that headed to Alabang.
Maybe it's just me. But, I found commuting to be fun and adventurous. Apart from mingling with the masses, there's always something out of the ordinary that I observed on every ride.
Oh. I occasionally rode the mini buses (from Zapote) when I went swimming at Covelandia. But, the jeepneys were more plentiful.

Pekto it's just you
Or it was fun and an adventure during your time here.
Everything is worse in the commuting scenario here. Kaya hanga ako dun sa everyday commute lalo na galing probinsya.
Even if you use your private car to travel, it's also worse.
Mas dumami tao, mas dumami kotse, pati motorsiklo. Yung Edsa hindi naman dumadami yun.

I always made the best of a bad situation. I couldn't stand the tropical climate (mostly the humidity), filthy streets, air pollution, and crowds everywhere. But, it's the friendliness of the general population and fellow commuters that made the difference to me.
I never encountered a commuter who had road rage. It was mostly a driver thing. Even then, traffic was a problem in many areas. If we were stuck in a traffic snarl, I just took a snooze. I snored loud too.If I was about to nod over, a fellow commuter would wake me up.
If I found myself visiting a strange area, there were always other commuters who were helpful so I didn't get lost.

i also found it fun, commuting then.
pekto and i must be of similar age.
the rest of you tsikoteers must be much younger.
heh heh.
I'm the adventurous kind. Most of the neighborhood teens and young adults my age were closeted inside their homes and lived like nuns. They didn't spend time under the sun or mingled with the poorer (aka the ordinary) folks. I don't know why. But, I could not live like that.
A few weeks back, went to Dumaguete and Siquijor. Sabi ko sa sarili ko ang sarap mag drive at mag motor dun.
I actually rented a motorcycle there.
Traffic. Worsening traffic stresses the commuter in me.
Na enjoy ko lang bus ride kasi di ako mag drive sa traffic and pwede ako matulog tapos bababa na lang ako sa destination ko hehe
