And now it is gone..... an icon from the golden era.

Manage to stay with it 3x and the last one was just before it will be demolished. Most of the hotel parts (doors, lampshades, etc. can now be found in some HMR items)

Our wedding reception was held there. We also stayed there before it closed down.

I was told na kaya jollyjeep ang tawag sa mga kainan sa side streets ng Ayala CBD is because before they were actually jeepneys that double as food stalls. Is it true?

Yes. These jeepney will park at the side of the road and wait for customers. Usually lunch time dati. Until they were institutionalizednand regulated by MACEA and MAPA.

The jepneys are still being used to deliver food from their kitchen to jollijeep but most evolved and now use hilux

    There are places I'll remember

All my life, though some have changed

    Some for better, not forever

Some have gone, and some remain

All these places had their moments...

Highway 54 (aka edsa) back in the late 1950s

btw, edsa was originally named highway 54 because it was 54 meters wide & it was completed in 1954. That's what i read anyway. [emoji4]

Hmm based on the directions, maybe that pic is EDSA north bound near Ayala Ave?

Based on the street signs in the pic, i believe this is now the edsa-buendia intersection since ayala ave then was a runway.

    I may be mistaken though.

do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do
