The Taurus line of pistols are pretty reliable since they copied some of the more reliable designs of a reputable manufacturer in Italy (Pietro Beretta). The PT911 is no different. I've heard some complaints about the PT911, mainly about the trigger when it is used in double action mode. The solution? Cock the trigger back so you can go SA all the way. What's nice about Taurus is their warranty, which is supposedly for a lifetime. I don't know if the same warranty is extended by their Philippine disrtibutor, Trust Trade. Taurus is a Brazilian manufacturer, by the way.
I can't say much about the Llamas since I don't have any experience with them. Maybe the other gun enthusiasts of Tsikot can help you out on this one.
Try to grip the pistol, if it fits your hand, and get a feel for the balance before you buy.

Sir, just click on my sig line. The link will take you to the Band of Glockers (BoG) forum, which is hosted on GlockTalk.com. The BoG forum is the closest thing to a Filipino gun forum that I know of, since it is participated in by Filipino and Filipino-American gun owners, who use all brands of guns, not just Glocks. The forum members also post info on guns that they are selling from time to time.
I don't have any personal experience with the Taurus PT911, but a kumpare of mine has one and AFAIK, he hasn't had any problems with it. I have, however, had two .38 spl Taurus revolvers at one time or another, and they both worked very well. I also have a PT111 Millennium, which, if you can learn to shoot the heavy DAO trigger, is a very good concealed carry gun.
I won't comment on the Llama, cuz I don't have any firsthand experience with it.

Sorry, only saw this part now. Unfortunately, a gun is a mechnical device, and like any such device (eg. an automobile), the more mileage it has on it, the lesser the resale value should be since you'll be getting something which has already gone through some wear and tear.
The selling price will depend in part on how many rounds he has put through the gun and if he has replaced any worn parts.
Do a search on the BoG forum, you'll find an old thread there about what to look for when inspecting a second-hand gun.
i read there that i should at least try to fire some rounds on different guns just to have a feel.
baka pwede ako pumunta sa mga meets nyo? saan ba kayo nagkikita? and lastly, magkano ba ang rent ng gun and for the ammo (just a ballpark figure will do )?

--------------------------------
Proud owner of Glock 17c
wala sila Taurus PT911 sa pb dionisio, CZ75 9mm and 1911 lang ang meron sila na for hire.
last time I was there it was P250 for the gun (first 100 rounds lang ha, additional P250 for the next 100 rounds). range fee was P200, tapos P6 per round of 9mm. ang .45acp mas mura, P5.50 yata.
but that was 8 months ago na. ewan ko ngayon. i do most of my firing in the province na kasi, outdoor talaga. i just have my own cartridges that I send for reloading sa tito ko.
look for a guy with the handle of "paltik" sa Pinoydvd.com. he has a gun store near cash and carry, great guy to deal with (although dvd lang ang transactions ko sa kanya).;)
gun ban pa kasi ngayon. kung may magsasama sa iyo sa firing range eh sigurado magha-hire kayo ng gun, not worth it. patapusin mo muna ang gun ban pare.
may tanung lang po ako..baka kasi bibigyan ako after ng gunban. kasi i have to bring it pa from the province
JERICHO o CZ? hehe alam JERICHO namn ata talaga but maybe makakapagbigay kayo ng comparison. d ko lam ang model numbers nila, i saw them na actually masyadong maganda ang jericho. 9mm parehas
1.) the IMI Jericho 941 9mm is a copy of the CZ75 9mm. other copies of the CZ are Tanfoglio TZ75, EAA Witness, Sphinx and even the Beretta 92. there are a lot other gun makes that copied the CZ action, but not worth mentioning as they did not sell much. the CZ75 is the most copied gun in the world. so does that tell you anything? it won't be copied if it ain't the best!
2.) the Jericho hammer is more difficult to decock than the CZ hammer. unless you have a decocker model which makes the case for decocking moot. maliit ang hammer ng Jericho. hammer ng CZ is the same as 1911 hammers, a tried and tested design that results in better grip and control.
3.) CZs also have a beaver-tail, better gun control than the Jericho.
4.) the Jericho slide may look great (for some people lang ha, not me) because of its triangular profile, but try cocking the slide with sweaty hands (which will probably be the situation when you're in a combat situation, or competition) and you'll wish you had a square slide. speaking of slides, try holding a beretta slide after firing 45 rounds (3 magazines). ooooops, exposed barrel pala ang slide ng beretta! so what do you end up with? a burnt hand!
5.) Jericho is also heavier than the CZ (same gun size ha.)
6.) also, the CZ is the only slide-in-frame gun. this design makes it more accurate than the copies, less rattle too.
but then again, I have a CZ so I may be bias. but then again, I read all I could read, did my research, asked so many questions, and got the same answers! then i bought my CZ! 5000+ rounds and counting, and still as accurate as the day i bought it.

if he's got a full auto CZ75 bakit hindi pa yun ang hingiin mo pre? full auto sabi mo ha, like in machine pistol gaya ng uzi and mac? ang alam ko sa CZ na full auto e select fire ito, pwede semi-auto at pwede din full auto 900 rounds per minute. price of the full auto CZ at ultra systems is P150K, and it's for sale only to military and police personnel.
Originally posted by tebs i haven't really tried firing a real gun, puro BB lang. hehehe
one of these days, i'll try to visit. may gusto ba magsama sa akin, para di naman ako OP. ;)
hi tebs. sorry, was in the province the past four days and only got to log on again today. tama si yebo, wala masyadong activity sa shooting community ngayon dahil sa election gun ban.
if you can wait until June when the gun ban ends, mas ok na yung shooting climate by that time. pero kung talagang gusto mo na mag-try na bumaril ngayon, wala akong nakikitang alternative except to rent a gun at the range... unless you know anyone who has a private range in the province or something and who is willing to let you try out his pistols.
the gun rental fee at PB is now P300. I don't know if that is just for the first 100 rounds. I'll try to clarify with them tomorrow.
mukhang CZ yung gusto nya ibigay sakin tnx sir yebo
kung yung select fire CZ75 yan, kunin mo then benta mo sa akin :D. i'll pay enough for you to buy a new CZ or Jericho hehehehe! lugi ka nga lang :D oh what I would pay to get a select fire CZ75 in my car! drive by ko mga mmda sa edsa! bra-ta-ta-ta-tat-tat!
mahal naman nung jericho nya eh 42K ata yun.. for a 2nd hand ah
