Same here, barat ako na ninong. Sa binyag yes generous ako, but I'm not one of those na complete listed ang gifts/monetary presents.

Pag ka-close ko yung parents or relative ko mismo yun inaanak surely they can expect a present from me.

Ang hirap kasi tumanggi or hindi pa talaga ako tumanggi pag sinabing kukunin ako na ninong, yun mga tipong ganun sa binyag lang ako nagreregalo hehe

XMAS = consumerism. it's just a load of BS hahaha

well it's a pagan holiday in the first place. saturnalia. hijacked by christians

gift giving on xmas just feels so obligatory. i give gifts when they least expect it for maximum effect! haha

With my group of friends, we're only a handful of ninongs/ninangs at the very most. We only choose our really close friends to be a godparent and walang consideration kung mayaman si ninong/ninang or hinde since relationships ang basehan.

i don't even attend the baptism if there are more than 5 pairs of ninongs and ninangs, kahit ilagay pa nya name ko sa unahan ng listahan. i do not even send a gift. pag nagka-chance meeting at sabihin "oy dami mo na utang sa inaanak mo" sagot ko "madami naman kaming ninong e boundary ka na ng husto" or "ninong ba ako? dami kasi names dun sa invitation mo di ko napansin." somehow pag madami e nawawala yung pagka-special ng kumpare/kumare and ninong/inaanak relationship. nagiging cheap kasi alam mo pera-pera lang yung habol kaya ka ginawang ninong.

They say nga they don't tear open my gifts. Yung iba ayaw din buksan. The ribbon and ornaments can be reused by the recepient

Exactly. It becomes less special. May iba nga di kp ko alam na inaanak ko pala Sabi naman ng friends ko na maraming mag pair, ayaw daw nila na may ma offend.

Christmas season is suppose to prepare YOU for the next year. Yan ang real purpose ng ancients aka winter solstice and then the Bethlehem star

    A renewal.

Kaya sobrang double time ako sa gym during Chridtmas season coz most people are eating their hearts outs with all the Christmas food and parties
Lahat pa naman yun food eaten mag-manifest sa katawan sa January

Kaya madani New Years Resolution down the drain, coz depression almost follows after a splurge and Indulgences.

    -------

A great number of people seem to know this na Kaya most people travel in January and therefore cause more envy sa mga nagyayanbang nun Christmas

Yan ang culture kasi ngaun, escape depression para good start ang new year mo You're in the ZONE Ika nga

Gift ko sa inaanak yung bagay sa age niya till the time na alam kong marunong na mag pera. Walang kaso kung ilang ninong kami, I give kasi dumaan din ako sa pagkabata and di nila kasalanan na naging ninong ako kaya okay lang. Nasa kanila na kung gagayahin nila paglaki or magiging magulang sila

    Minsan isang taon lang naman.

I think I saw your car in BGC on my way to Serendra last Friday lunch. Nasalubong ko I yung start ng plate. It looks like your pickup. Hehe.

BTT I think it's only proper for inaanaks to give gifts to their godparents as well.
