Sir city, answering this is like answering these questions:

1.) Would you allow your son to play sports? (knowing he might get busted up)

2.) Would you allow your teenager to go out on dates? (knowing she might date someone like me? )

3.) Would you allow your college kid to study PT at UST (see Goon Squad thread re shooting of PT stude)?

And so God watches us, happy when He sees something good. Sad with something bad. Again, free will. Angels in the garden is the comfort He gives the good. I wouldn't want a commie-type God. What greater purpose could there be than that we were made in His image (meaning free to do what we feel is right)?

This is indeed a very good argument about God. nice words. but I'm sure he'll (*city) question the "for that which is isn't" part. for he only believes in what exists ...

not really...i'll probably revere someone who is worth revering. not someone with a history of violence. If this is the case, there must be something that compels me to revere a person even if he is not worth revering. this person must be using a silent threat that if i dont revere him...i'll spend the rest of my life in torture...this is not true reverence..it's more of control....definitely not freewill.

let me ask...what part of the bible you want me to read and meditate so i will understand? the book has two parts: the OT and the NT. The OT speaks of a violent god..the NT speaks of the violent god sending his son to tell how much he loves his creatures and the way to non-violence. then at the end of the story, this all loving violent god (already contradictory) warns his creatures if you don't believe...you'll burn in hell forever. A place he created for disbelievers.?

So that begs the question, what do you revere? Some would call the Old Testament Yahweh to be violent, but such can also be perceived as acts of justice. It is certainly easy to perceive God as a control freak, but that's simply because He's a God of Order. If you're looking for a God of Convenience, someone who gives a supportive nod whenever you push the limits of freedom, then the Christian God is not for you. You could probably find someone appropriate in the Hindu pantheon of hundreds, or simpy forego the idea of a deity altogether. And that my friend, is free will.
