i believe Satan is free will. If we do god's will over free will, then we are rid of Satan.![]()
just my suggestion.
Actually, that's the big thing with the Catholic Protestant split:
According to the Protestants, the Catholics will go to hell for worshipping their idols. Worship of Saints and the Mother Mary are actually against the original strictures of the Church, justified as "worship by proxy" - i.e.: You pray to the Saints to pray to God for you.
Of course, the more pragmatic reason for this are the pagan roots of most converted Catholics. Catholicism has a habit of incorporating Pagan rituals and traditions into itself, in order to make the transition to Catholicism easier.
One such incorporation was the Saints. We have a different patron saint for each occassion, profession and environment, just as the Pagans had a different God or patron spirit for every occassion.
Another is Easter, closely related to the equinox and pagan fertility rituals (did you never wonder what the bunny was for?) I'm not sure about Christmas, but I think it also has some relation to early pagan rituals... I just have to dig it up.
Of course, the Protestants still celebrate Easter and Christmas, even though they don't condone statues and worship of Saints... so it's kind of hypocrital... but at least some of them allow women ministers (the tradition of not allowing women priests in the Catholic Church is just... ridiculous in this day and age).
-----
According to the Catholics, the Protestants will go to hell for following a false God. Well, at least that's the gist of what I get every time I sit through a sermon in Church where the Priest is an old hardliner... I guess it all evens out.![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
hehehe, the perks of being Catholic Christian ... you know sir hirap tanggapin pero it's happening.
look at some of political personalities particularly sa mga provinces, mga dating g*go at mamatay tao, pero nag-bible study lang at nag-return to God's fold, powerful ulit. para sila bimbong crisologo et al heheheh
God must be good to them for having repented.
sometimes, talaga naiisip ko talaga bakit ganun ka-unfair? you know what it's like the Parable of the Prodical son ... and the self-righteous brother. the self-righteous brother distanced himself from dissappointing their father, nagsipsip pa, and tried to make good all his life. tapos ayaw nya magpatawad sa sarili nya kapatid kasi it's so UNFAIR![]()
well, like I said. our life here in this world is one big experiment. we learn thru mistakes, thru our inability to fend off temptations and desires. what's important is we learn that it's a mistake after, and thenwe ask for forgiveness.
if we live our life by the book (by the bible) and then gets dissappointed at some instances of discrepancies in the written book vs. reality, nakaka-betray talaga feeling. similar to those rebel PMA'ers, kaya galit na galit sila. and this feeling is more dangerous sa tingin ko than the one who is human enough to submit to temptation and to repent after.
RE: Catholicism and forgiveness... supposedly, even if you confess, if your heart ain't really in it... it doesn't count.
So if you commit genocide thinking that you can get away with it by confessing, you're not truly sorry, and you'll still go to hell.
Your call, siguro... better ask the other moderators.

basta usapang religion talagang walang pupuntahan. kanya kanyang
reason ang bawat isa kaya walang katapusan. mabuti pa ang ibang
history na naganap thousands of years before are well documented.
true sir. there is this story of a general who comitted genocide against his people. in his youngers years, he was this idealistic officer who wanted to do things the right way, the idealistic way. later on, disappointed about what's happening with his country, his idealistic way become his way. and the ideal thing for him ... ethnic cleansing. he knew that for his country to move forward, he had to rid the country of people who are not contributing to the country and who are in fact, problem-makers of his country. and so he pushed through with his new "idealism".
years later, he had killed about hundreds of thousand of his countrymen. The UN stepped in, with it, ofcourse, the US. He got "captured" and his army neutralized. While in prison awaiting for his trial on crimes against humanity, he was commissioned by "the" intelligence committee to go and to reveal information about a shadowy group of international arms smugglers. allegedly, he knew personally these shadowy organization bec. he had secret dealings with them during his "idealism" campaign. He got killed afterwards when he met with his "former" associates but not before he uncovered a secret plot of his former comrades. to make the long story short, he saved the world.
so how do we measure a man like this? a man who comitted genocide and then saved the world after.
how do you think God will receive him? or will god accept him?

siguro naman there's nothing wrong with discussing this. I thought this is a forum, to share and to contest ideas and beliefs. personally, I am hoping na umabot sa page 50 ;)
besides, it's so enjoyable to battle it out with non-believers.
So... he turns in his former comrades to try to get pardoned? If he died saving the world while trying to save the world, maybe he's going to Catholic Limbo... or maybe an extended stay in Purgatory, say, about five thousand years.
If he died saving the world while trying to merely get himself out of jail or a death sentence? He's still going to hell.
Bailiff... next case.![]()
