Nag-whoopee po sila ni Mary Magdalene. Mga mods, di po OT yun ha? Truth in the Bible yung pinaguusapan. There is a study na celibacy was a medieval invention of the Catholic Church. Before the Middle Ages, masaya mga priest, ngayon wawa naman po sila. As a modern day example po, mga Rabbi get married.

Sir City, hati hati po dapat tayo ni coder sa 20% mo.

Sir Niky, nakita nyo po si Jesus? Kasama si Elvis? Wakekek, Peace po!

i have relatives/friends who are iglesia, protestants, atheists, jehovah's witnesses, buddists, whathaveyou...the only catalyst we have is RESPECT...even though we have arguments/debates at the end of the day we still respect each other's beliefs even we think otherwise...

as for the topic is not how accurate the bible is but how you absorb its teachings and values

There are gospels on the lost years but apparently they were not included in what we know as the bible today. Da vinci code stuff.

in relation with this thread, tsikoteers raised very good points..may it be pro or anti teachings of the bible.

at the end of the day (or thread)...respect is still due to everyone.

we all know how to love, and there's a saying that goes something like "God is Love" so my dear brothers and sisters, let's love one another, through the rain, through the storm, for my love will see you through....(ayan napakanta na tuloy ako) tsk tsks tsk

Yaaa... bro... he was in the smoke, man... it was like waaaaay out....

If Jesus were alive now, he probably wouldn't be Catholic. He'd be a hippie. Peace, love, forgiveness. Go against the flow, listen to the children, dudes, don't force them to listen to you.

Various Church leaders would proclaim him the anti-Christ, the false prophet. They'd bait him with theological questions on "Evolution":

"Hey, peace bro, Give unto Darwin what is Darwin's, Give unto God what is God's... let the scientists have the monkeys, souls are all that count!"

    On "Celibacy":

"Hey, I told you guys before to love one another! How can you preach my love if you don't practice it? Loosen up, guys!"

    On "Women in the Church":

"Hey, if Mary Magdalene could preach my word, anybody can. When did I say women couldn't?"

    They'd crucify him. Definitely.

Why were they not included in the bible today? Did you imply the gospels were included in the bible in past editions?
Sorry haven't read da vinci code stuff although i heard it has something to do with stories (fiction, accdg to author?) the church would not want its followers to know.

One truth that came out of the brouhaha is the truth about Mary Magdalene. Her apparent importance in the Christian faith was diminished when a middle ages Pope declared her to be the same person as an adulteress described in a previous chapter of the gospel where she first appears. Modern scholars agree that she isn't. Nowhere in the Bible does it state that she was ever an adulteress.

In terms of her importance, she was most likely one of Jesus' most important apostles. She was the first one to see him, purportedly, after his resurrection, and she was the only disciple at the cross.

Of course, since the Church has historically been run by men, they trumped up the role of Peter as opposed to Mary, and have downplayed her role as much as possible, while emphasizing that of Mother Mary instead. Thus propagating the idea of women in the Church hierarchy as inactive background figures who calmly accept authority, and giving a more active role to the male figures in Jesus' life.

Of course, the emphasis of Mother Mary has backfired in some respects, as Marian Worship has spread like wildfire in recent decades. If they'd concentrated on Mary Magdalene more than Mother Mary, they would've at least merely given her a co-equal position with the other apostles.

My apologies to the group if this is off-colored:

May joke nga riyan na typographical error raw ang celibate, because when a priest was researching the original manuscripts it was supposed to be 'celebrate' ....

(of course the originals were not in english)....

    PEACE!

It's your choice. For me, the bible is true. Not one word of it is a lie. If that is irrational, then I choose to be irrational on the side of the promised eternal life in God's presence.
    AMEN TO ALL OF THAT!

Jesus Christ will never be a catholic or a member of any religious sect. Jesus Christ clearly stated in the Bible that he is God Himself.

You will only be forgiven of your sin because of Him, and you will only earn your right to salvation through him.

What Jesus requires from a believer? Faith, Trust, Obedience, and Repentance.

Not everything in the Bible is true...
