ELLEN TORDESILLAS reports for ABSCBN NEWS on the meeting between Senator Rodolfo Biazon (Chairman of the powerful Senate National Defense Committee) and his detained colleague, Senator Antonio Trillanes, who has apparently been receiving information from active-duty officers and men and is seeking to participate in upcoming Committee hearings to fight for their cause. She reveals the deadly common thread between the Abu Sayyaf outrages in 2001 (Dos Palmas, the Lamitan Siege, the ordeal of Martin and Gracia Burnham) and the Tipo tipo Basilan Beheadings of July 10, 2007 that may have been the gist of the meeting with Sen. Biazon...

    .... Cong. Akbar is a pro gov't...
baka front lang ni Akbar na pro-gov siya... tapos nabuking ....so Akbar's death became the "sacrificial lamb" scenario ... with nothing to loose.

on the contrary I believe it was an assassination on akbar, I don't think anyone can just plant a bomb on his car or go near him and pop a bullet on his head, sigurado marami itong security this guy is a warlord, ex-MILF and along the way had so much enemies...both from the muslim insurgents and government/military people....

talagang maraming galit sa kanya especially sa military, dahil mga tao niya ang nag ambush and nag behead a couple of months ago sa mga marines....

Good timing since tomorrow would be Among Ed's appearance in the senate and the deliberation on the impeachment case against PGMA in Congress.

Probably destablizers are at fault or.....
Possible use of the motorcycle as a "carbomb" so they can deliver a bigger blast nearer to the target. A bomb placed under the car/van might not be effective especially if the vehicle is armored. Also planting a bomb under the car would require a bit of time UNDER the car which might look a bit suspicious to anyone looking.

A gun is a bit difficult to use because the gunman would probably die right after taking one or two shots with no guarantee of fatally hitting the target.

A remote activated carbomb would guarantee the "hitman" would get away alive and still remain anonymous to do the same deed again if needed.
