    sa mga madalas matapilok diyan at marunong at alam kung pano gagawin sa natapilok. hehehe

    kanina kasing umaga nung nag basketball kami natapilok ako. bumagsak ako sa paa nung isang player. wala naman atang bali. pansin ko lang kanina sobra niya sakit pagkagising ko kasi natulog ako pagkauwi. naka-aircon ako non kasi ang init. hindi kaya sa lamig kaya sumakit maigi ung paa ko? pero nung dinadampian ko na ng ice bag na may lamang mainit na tubig, unti-unting nawala ung sakit.

    ngayon ang ginagawa ko pinapagulong ko lang ung paa ko sa bote saka dinadampian ng ice bag na may mainit na tubig. tama ba ung ginagawa ko? para ano tamang gawin para mabilis gumaling?

    sabi sakin ganun din..pero ginagawa ko yun pag napahinga ko na siya and NOT right after the injury...give it time to rest..tapos pag recovery na, chaka ko lang ginagawa yung rolling bottle ek ek choovalooness!

    ouch! ang sakit niyan naranasan ko na yan while doing the karate kid kick. sa bote ng coke pinagulong nung manghihilot yung paa ko. hehehe!

    tama! ang sakit nga. buti nga hindi pa namamaga e. mukhang talagang ung bote technique ang ginagawa ng lahat. hehehe

    ako madalas ma-sprain ankle ko. once I sprained my ankle 3x in a span of 1 year. last month i na-sprain na nman ako. helluva pain talaga right after you hear something poppin' in your ankle...

    well this is what i usually do. i usually apply cold compression in the injured ankle to put down the swelling right after i twisted my ankle..AFAIK you are not suppose to put hot compression immediately coz hot temp. creates more blood circulation in the injured ankle thus promotes swelling...give it plenty of rest and put bandages on it...

    btw, it really does hurt after you wake up the following day especially when you get out of bed coz once you begin to sit or stand up, gravity takes the blood in to your ankle & veins will start to expand thus the experience of pain in the injured ankle.. the bottle technique does work for me but i usually do it the day after the injury.

    i'm no doctor but this is how i do based on countless experience of twisting my ankle....

    ayos! thanks pre. i'll stick to the bottle technique na lang. salamat. ermats ko kasi sabi hot compression daw. sa pagkakaalam ko din cold compression din. un nakikita ko sa pba saka nba e. hehehe.

    cold compress is used immediately after the injury, to contain the swelling.

    then hot compress pag after ilang hours na. ginagawa ko rin yang bote. masakit, pero ok lang, nakakatulong naman e.

    minamasahe ko rin pala with bengay, then wrap with elastic bandage, parang hot compress na rin with support from the bandage.

    medyo bawas sa paglakad, and lagi nakataas yung paa na injured

    yup... the last time my ankle got sprained, dinala ko sa hilot and pinagulong din sa bote ng coke yung paa ko. she also said to take a rest tapos ipatong daw sa unan yung paa pag nakahiga

    palagi din ako natatapilok. both ankles pa.. it got to the point that I have to wear ankle support everytime I play ball. both feet!

    AFAIK, cold compress muna tapos hot the succeeding days.

    think of the bote as therapy... ok yun! hehe

    avoid moving your ankles, hot compress, oitment tapos bandage..
    right now meron din akong pilay sa paa although and sabi sakin ng doctor is torn ligament hindi pilay kse pulang pula yung maga and matagal mag subside , sobrang sakit sya for 5 days na nag papain killer na ako, anyway, yun sinabi ko yun din yung advice ng doc sakin

    cguro depende sa pag ka injury ...kasi pwede mag ka crack ang bone or like RUKAWA said..torn ligament ....the best niyan kung d ka nag titipid..pa x-ray ka .....remember isa lang paa natin wla tayo mabibili sa market niyan ...ive been through on that before...iyan pala pag hindi nabalik ang mga ligaments sa original na position nagkakaron ng space sa mga joints natin ..at iyon space na iyon tinutubuan na laman ...at pag nag kaidad na doon kikirot...i heard some of our old PBA players noon nag kakaidad na ay inooperahan para alisin lang ang laman ...and after ay therapy...para mabalik sa dati pwesto mga joints at ligaments...

    ako lagi ako natatapilok at natatalisod kahit saan. Buti nalang walang injuries. Baka lampa ako hehe

    ako siguro natapilok na ko more than 20 times. may isang beses pa mga 4 times in a span of 7 weeks... masakit talaga siya pagkagising mo the next day. Tapos masmasakit pag bangon mo sa kama at naramdaman mo yung blood na naiipon na sa paa mo.

    i don't recommend rolling your ankle on a bottle. It would be better kung hindi mo siya ginagalaw, pahinga lang siya dapat, and ako ginagawa ko binababad ko sa baldeng puno ng yelo. One quick way to get rid of the pain and inflammation is buy CATAFLAM/CATAPHLAM nakalimutan ko na spelling. iinom ka niyan once a day, depende sa dosage. Sa dami ng tinapilok ko, yung paa ko parang naging immune na... parang merong magppop tapos pwede kong ibalik ung bone/ligament/kung ano man yun.haha pero pagkasolid talaga yung bagsak, ayun, 2 weeks of pain na naman...(or more)haha

    kung wala namang torn ligament/tendon/etc., afaik *immediately* after injury, apply ng cold compress. pero later than that, hot compress/liniment na ang iaapply, to promote blood circulation in the area. ung coloring around a bruised area is blood that gets "stuck" in that area, causing pain. the idea is to get that blood up and running.

    if you follow the traditional chinese practice, di daw pwede mabasa ung affected area. if ever maliligo, apply liniment first, then apply uli immediately after showering.

    as much as possible, do some light movement, again to prevent blood circulation. syempre kung masakit e tigilan muna B)

    with regard to *preventing* ankle sprains, there are exercises to strengthen the ankle, pero sa ngayon only ankle raises come to mind.
