It's not exactly a new fad. I'm used to seeing those scarves being sported by journalists who have been to Mindanao assignments, similar to what morrisey_05 pointed out. They've been doing that for years already, ngayon lang siguro nauso for street use.

personally, i think it looks stupid. buti sana kung nauso sya during the colder months kaso ang init ng panahon ngayon eh.

It seems like I'm the only one who hasn't seen a guy wearing a fashion scarf. Where do these people hang out? I'm often at the mall naman but I don't see any. hehe.

*cathy for you -- though I haven't seen these yet back home and find out for myself whether it's a trend or not, I'd suggest just look in the tv. seen alot of news reporters sporting this too even if they're not covering news in the mountains, etc. -- i.e. urban news.
