BOSTON, Massachusetts (AFP) - Police captured one of the Boston marathon bombing suspects early on Friday but were still chasing a second suspect in a manhunt in which gunfire and explosions were heard, the Boston Globe reported.
The suspect was caught in Watertown near the US city of Boston after a chase which started with the killing of a police officer at the elite Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the newspaper reported.

most of the action has died down - it has now become a manhunt for the last suspect. it was quite chaotic earlier since the suspects were being pursued in the dark; shots were fired plus IEDs involved. there was also more chatter on the radio before the majority of police units moved to a different channel.

Police have cornered a man believed to be the suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings on a boat in a yard in a suburb of the Massachusetts capital, law enforcement officials told CNN.
Authorities "engaged" the man, according to one of the officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, just minutes after authorities indicated a massive manhunt for a suspect in Watertown appeared to come up empty.
