Ever hear the story of the astronaut and the brain surgeon?
The astronaut, who was an atheist, says to a brain surgeon, "I've flown on countless space missions, circled around the Earth many times, but I never saw a single sign of God or the angels in the heavens."
The surgeon, who happened to be religious, answers, "And I've operated on countless brains, many of them belonging to famous people, but I never saw a single thought."

thoughts can be measured. in fact me brain fingerprinting na nga na ginagamit in some 1st world nations to measure one's thoughts. now, if somebody can measure god, then i'll have no problem believing.Originally Posted by Bogeyman
this is the same saying that atheists shouldn't believe in oxygen because like god, it can't be seen also. but there is liquid oxygen. if somebody can liquefy god and put him on display, then that would be nice.
now this is funny:
The son of God is the same as the son of man; the son of man is the same as the son of God. God, the father, is the same as Christ, the son; Christ, the son, is the same as God, the father. This language may appear confused to unbelievers, but Christians will readily understand it.
-- Voltaire, quoted from The Christ
In the end, what matters most is how you treated your fellowmen. Just look at "The Good Samaritan." He did not know God (therefore He did not believe in Him), but still he believed in good and love!

pag nakita ko sya in person, maniniwala ulit ako. or kung nung nagkaron ng tsunami sa thailand e biglang me lumabas na malaking kamay at sinagip lahat yung mga kokonti kasalanan (specially the kids) tapos pinabayaan mamatay yung mga masasama. or kung me malaking paa sana na lumabas sa langit at inapakan ang congress natin. then for sure naniwala ulit ako.Originally Posted by GlennSter
alam ko sasabihin ng iba, masyadong malabo mangyari hinihingi ko na proof, pero God sya, right? so dapat walang malabo sa kanya.
until such proof besomes evident, all present gods (and goddesses) are no different from zeus and hera and athena. greek myhthology tawag natin sa kanil angayon, but remember there was a time na sinamba sila ng ancient greeks.

they were worth.

tama si theveed in saying that if you've lost it before you may lose it again. but if you gained it back, chances are you'll regain it back again. imo, its keeping the faith ang mahirap.
now, everytime i look at the pictures of my wife and son., i smile and utter "Thank you God."
Long ago, there was god named Vulcan, and hew was the god of fire and volcanoes. He came to
life when ancient men, who were our forefathers, discovered fire and burning rocks spewed by
an erupting mountain. They could not explain how fire is created, so they came to the
conclusion that it must be the creation of a higher being. They called that higher being
Vulcan.
Centuries passed. Then one day, the smarter ones among these ancient people discovered that
they could create fire just by rubbing two pieces of sticks together in a sustained manner.
With this discovery that ordinary men have the ability to create fire, they realized that
there is no truth to the existence of a god named Vulcan. It dawned to them that their
ancestors were just too stupid or too lazy to find out for themselves how fire is created.
Their ancestors did not know the answer to the question "How is fire created?" And they did
not have the patience nor the intellect to conduct the painstaking research needed to find
the correct answer. So they came up with the most convenient and readily available answer:
they invented the god of fire and volcanoes.
Does anybody still worship Vulcan now? Or Zeus? Or Astarte? We now know of them as mere
characters in Greek or Roman mythology. But remember, they were the religions of the ancient
Greeks and the ancient Romans. They built churches and temples where they worshipped and
pray to Zeus, Apollo, Aphrodite, and, yes, Vulcan, for thousands of years. These ancient
people also believed that when they die, their souls will jon the gods in Mt. Olympus, where
they will live in pure joy for eternity (for the Vikings, it's Asgard).
Interesting, isn't it?
Mr. woulfe tumpak hehe...
i dunno, but i dont believe, or at least i dont wanna think there is GOD...
i respect naman lahat ng paniniwala ng iba.. its just that parang history lahat ng naisusulat sa bible ay ang kwento lang ng mga nagwagi.. panu naman ang other side of the story? or ang behind the scene?
anyway, again... the bible is a compilation of stories, stories which we people do not know if totoo ba o hindi. tao lang din ang nagsulat nyan.
and also yung paniniwala ng heaven and hell etc.. sinu ba may sabi niyan? hehe sinu din nagsasabi na pag ginawa ang certain thing, mawawala ang kasalanan mo etc...
i dunno, but even if i wanna believe na nandyan SIYA, i just can't. i need reasons hehe hindi divine interventions
