but for healthy, sedentary, or with active lifestyle individuals, 2lbs/wk is ideal. anything more than that is just hurting thier progress because there is a potential they are also losing precious muscles along with it. we know that those muscles have a potential in helping one lose those fats faster.

That initial weight came from not eating glucose, depleting glycogen storage from your muscle and liver, youll flush out excess water weight, the more carbs in your system, the more water youll hold. 1g of carb holds 3-4 units of water in the body, btw, there is no cutting of calories, you just need to adjust the marcos to a higher protein and fat intake so not to lose muscle. Goal is losing the fat and maintaing muscle, 2lbs a week of fat loss very hard, the initial and sudden weight loss is and always will be water, not fat, you are lucky to lose 1lb a week, more than that youll be losing also muscle, thats why i refrain from cutting calories. I just increase my work load. My daily intake is 4-5k calories. To give an example, i eat whole chicken in one sitting just for lunch.

I think the amount of calories works for you because thats probably very close to your TDEE. For most people though, 4k-5k is alot of calories. Hell, even 3k is alot of calories.

I agree that an individual might not need to cut calories but just need to fix his macros and change his food sources. Most here though is probably way off their macros, eating 'dirty' and in surplus. Some might be eating just enough carbs but might be over eating on proteins and fats hence the shabby shape. Theres no going around when losing weight other than consuming lesser calories than you need (caloric deficit). Thats the reason why people on diet that consist mainly on greens lose weight... greens has very little calories.
