Oo nga no. Hahaha. Kasi nung swelduhan siya samin P12k/month so P600/day and that was several yrs ago.

    16k/month. Stay out.
    6 days a week.

Usual rate among my friends: 14-16k.

16k seems like the new normal now.

Tenured ones obviously will make more due to loyalty and increases.

Asked my steady date. They also give their family driver P500/day so that's P500x26 daw (P13k) Salary is given on a weekly basis.

Parang rare na stay in nowadays

I suggest pay them decently with overtime benefits or you will lose them to a TNV like Grab. The hard part will always be finding a replacement: someone you can trust with your kids. And replacements will be more expensive.

So while the going is good, pay him well so he stays. Consider the alternatives. Time lost if you had to drive, additional hassle in finding a trustworthy driver, and the added expenses of more expensive drivers.

Trying to penny pinch sends a message to them that you dont value them enough. Dont be surprised then if they reciprocate in kind. Drivers are in mega demand now. More demand than supply.

Agree. Good drivers are a rarity these days. Even had to make do with a lazy one. But he's trustworthy and drives safely so I'm still happy to have him.

For those with regular family driver, do you also pay for SSS, Philhealth and Pag-ibig contributions?

IIRC like kasambahays, It is mandated by the law.

To add mas okay na din para in case na kakailanganin instead na umutang sayo ng malaki kahit papano may makuhang benefits from the Government.

Never knew that a family driver earns more than most entry level jobs.

Given the traffic conditions in the cities, I say it's justified. Just avoiding accidents here takes a lot of skill.
