At the most, i guess I could bear working abroad for a couple of years just to create some capital.

There's no other place for me.

    Maraming beses na kitang nilayasan
    Iniwanan at iba ang pinuntahan
    Parang babaeng mahirap talagang malimutan
Ikaw lamang ang aking laging binabalikan

    Manila, Manila
I keep coming back to Manila
    Simply no place like Manila
    Manila, I'm coming home

I walked the streets of San Francisco
I've tried the rides in Disneyland
Dated a million girls in Sydney
    Somehow I feel like I don't belong

    Hinahanap-hanap kita Manila
Ang ingay mong kay sarap sa tenga
    Mga Jeepney mong nagliliparan
    Mga babae mong naggagandahan
Take me back in your arms Manila
And promise me you'll never let go
Promise me you'll never let go

    Manila, Manila
    Miss you like hell, Manila
No place in the world like Manila
    I'm coming here to stay

See, Mali yung Survey na 4 out of 10 pinoys daw gustong mag-migrate sa ibang bansa?! But then, kailangan pa ding magtravel overseas either to work or to just see their place para makita din naman natin ang pamumuhay dun...

    I just migrated!

Well, it was for the sake of securing our kid's future. My wife and I felt that if we stayed in Pinas, nothing will happen to us.

Our target is to work our butts out till we could put up a rental property back in our homeland then go back to retire eventually. Now, at least we have green cards which we can use in case of any emergency that may arise or we may stay here for good depending on the economic situation and the government's performance.

Dito sa Memphis, TN., kahit second class ka, you get benefits that others get. They even say that TN is one of the most dangerous states to live in but I keep on telling myself, wala yan sa Pinas.

I just hope and pray we meet our goals and live life to the fullest.

    shintaro,

syempre di natin masasabi na mali yung survey based on a few replies dito sa tsikot hehe... remember, generally nasa A,B, and C classes yung tsikot members, not really the socioeconomic classes that would really benefit from migrating

No. Its still better living here lalo na kung well off ka naman. I'll only migrate if I'm having a hard time financially here.

Totoong mas updated pa tayo minsan dito, lalo na sa electronics (since most electronics and other products are now made here and in other ASEAN countries, not forgetting that Japan and Korea, and also China are just around the corner)....

Yeah, lugar nga ng mga racist pero funny thing is, the blacks and the whites are the ones who started it all. It's not really seen from where I live. Sa downtown memphis, dun daw grabe.

And I have yet to see the house "da King" built.

mbt, tama ka pareko! anyways, just arrived from overseas last night-mukhang ok sa NAIA at mabilis ang paglabas dahil dun sa courtesy counter for OFW's...mukhang OT na pero dagdag ko lang for the benefit of arriving OFW's kung may chance kayong dumaan ng DUTY FREE, kuha na kayo ng OEC dun, walang hassle. It took me just 10 mins to get one...

    Musta mga tsikoters?

Im a newbie here and I am very much interested to get some inputs/insights living in California. Just so happended na may job offer ako dun next year. I just want to know some answers to the following questions below that is clouding my mind...

Hows's the cost of living there?
How much will I spend on monthly rental on lodging?
How much do you usually spend the whole day/month on your food?
Will 3 grands per month good enough para may mai-save at maipadala ako sa family ko d2 sa pinas?

Hope you guys can help me on this. Thanks in advance.

Depende kung san ka sa California. You could rent a nice apartment unit for around $1,000 per month. Unlike dito, apartment units already come with a refrigerator, stove, oven, AC, and most of the time microwave.

Expect $100 total per month for electric, phone and water bill. Water bill is usually kasama na sa rent. Cable TV is $40 per month. Hirap kasi calculate ang cost of living because everyone is different. Food is around $300 to $500 per person per month, depende kung nagluluto ka o puro fastfood. Habang college ako, $400 per month pero matakaw kasi ako.

$3,000 per month is more than enough.

but my wife and my daughters are very loving, understanding & supportive naman at nabibigyan ko sila ng modest means of living plus modest kind of comfort as well as modest type of education..kaya i dont worry much about their future hanggat dito pako earning just enough to put my mind at ease..
