Lawyer Manuel Hernandez shot dead Edgardo Canezares and Catherine Palmero on General Roxas St. at the corner of Shaw Boulevard around 1:30 p.m., said Senior Superintendent Francisco Uyami, Pasig police chief.
Hernandez took a counterflow but was blocked by Canezares, who started the spat, said Uyami.
Irked, Hernandez then took his 9mm pistol and shot Canezares. Palmero went out of the car but she was also shot.
The suspect immediately escaped but was arrested five hours later, said Uyami.
Hernandez, currently detained at the Pasig Police Station, will face homicide charges.

My God! Ganito rin nagyari sa kin about last two months.
This happened in front of Metrobank, Kalentong. Yung bago mag Marketplace. Sobra dami jeep and sasakyan dun diba.
Etong *%^$%^ driver nang lancer itlog na to, umovertake/counterflow ba naman ang hinayupak na gago kahit traffic sa lane nila. Tinutukan ko nga at pinatayan nang ilaw. Di talaga ako gumalaw. Lumabas pa nang kotse at pero dun lang sya sa may pinto nya, uminit na rin ang ulo ko at bumaba na rin, abay ang katwiran nang tarantado eh dahil daw umoovertake sya eh dapat ako ang magbigay. Kung hindi ba naman bobo!!! Lahat nang nasa paligid nya eh minumura na sya pati yung mga tao. Bobo talaga. Sobra init na nang ulo ko kung may hawak akong cross wrench eh baka naibato ko na sa kanya. Bumalik din si gago sa kotse nya at inatras yung kotse nya at bumalik sa tamang lane. Balak pa manakit nung gago dahil nung halos magkatabi na yung kotse namain eh nakaamba pang manununtok, buti naka sara window ko, pag lagpas nya eh binabaan ko uli pero di na sya bumaba. Pinigil na ako nang friend ko and we went na. Nakaka kulo talaga nang dugo yung mga ganung driver. Pero pag naiisip ko yung scene na yun, nakakatakot din, pano kung ako ang may dalang baril or sya? Raps filed vs lawyer in Pasig road shooting


A lawyer is now facing criminal charges for allegedly killing two persons following a traffic altercation in Pasig City Tuesday, ABS-CBN News reported Wednesday.

Police said suspect Manuel Hernandez was charged with murder and violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban before the city prosecutor's office.

Senior Superintendent Francisco Uyami, city police chief, said Hernandez, 32, works at the legal department of City Hall and has a sibling who is a Sandiganbayan magistrate.

A check with the Office of the Press Secretary Web site said the Sandiganbayan has an associate justice named Jose Hernandez.

Police arrested the suspect at his residence in Barangay Kapitolyo after authorities traced the ownership of his Toyota car (UEP 457) at the Land Transportation Office.

Hernandez was identified as the gunman who shot and killed businessman Edgardo Canizares and his companion named Katherine Palmero.

Uyami said Hernandez initially refused to undergo a paraffin test but changed his mind Wednesday morning.

“May pinagsabihan siya kanina na gusto niyang magpa-paraffin kaya lang useless na, baka hinugasan na niya ang kanyang kamay (He told someone earlier that he wanted to undergo a paraffin test but it's useless now because he might have already washed his hands),” Uyami said.
