I have a different view on the mall closures. I was in Megamall earlier today and you could really see how devastated the workers were that the mall was closing. It was bad enough that they reduced shifts (from 3 to 1 per day), but now they lose work altogether.

Closed mall = no income. These are not people with paid leaves. No work, no pay. Bakasyon ka nga, wala ka naman pangkain.

If the malls continue operating, they remain almost empty but the workers at least get their daily wages. If the tycoons were truly altruistic, they would give a rental holiday so that tenants only have to pay wages as overhead and can operate with minimal revenue.

Unfortunately, it's the tenants and workers alike who suffer from the closures, while the capitalist mall owners still get their rental income.

same thing with malls, ngayon lockdown lumalabas sino last man standing. Syempre yung pinupuntahan ng customer.

True qc ang matibay. Dito kahit may lockdown may negosyo.

sa makati nakasalalay lang sa overrated cbd hahahahah
what was the reason why some business establishments remain open?
what was the reason why some business establishments choose to close?

    from what i understand kasi,
it's a no-win situation, whatever decision (to keep open or to close) is made. there will always be someone who will dis-approve.

    wag na nating gatungan pa.
the decisions could very easily have been reversed.
be thankful you don't have to go to makati, to buy your supplies.

Had to search for this as it wasn't trending on my news feed, but this is the right use of emergency funds:

DOLE to shoulder payments to all regular employees with consumed leave credits | PEP.ph

Hoping that displaced employees can really avail of the support.

sa akin doc, kahit sa lahat ng cities eh ok lang buksan mall pero supermarket, drugstore and convinience store lang. Ganun din naman sa germany or italy ba yun.

No purpose opening department store, shoe department and boutique. Hindi gaano importante damit/sapatos ngayon.

Eh si ayala kaya madali sya makapagdecide eh wala sya department store and supermarket. Si landmark ang gumagawa sa kanya nyan.

si sm may dept store, supermarket, drugstore malaking kwarta mawawala. So hindi na masama kung may isa or dalawang bukas like sm north and farview.

i doubt if that is indeed official.. the fact na PEP ang naglabas.. mahilig yang mga yan sa tsismis..

even sa DOLE website walang sinasabing ganyan.. kaya malamang fake news yan.

tama lang naman open yan kasi basic necessities.

ang iclose mga boutique ng damit, sapatos, mga resto inside the mall.

ang mabubuhay mga stand alone shops outside the mall.
