October 23rd, 2007 01:41 AM #1Here's the deal, nabasa ko sa isang fellow tsikoteer dun sa "nabutas and shorts" ung Dockers and Levi's pants being made in here. And then naisip ko ung mga nabili na items which were made in China.
I bought a Billabong Boardshort tsaka flip flop which were all made in China, pangit ung quality ng work.
Compare: My brother has a Champion short made in RP, it was a gift from my sister in Korea. Compared to the Billabong boardshort, laki ng difference sa worksmanship. Parang minadali ung made in China. Don't get me started on shoes urgh..
Your thoughts on products being made in the Philippines. This made me conscious where my items would be made. Bakit kaya ang tingin nating mga Pinoy sa RP made products are inferior? Pero kung tutuusin marami premium brands eh made in RP.
Add ko rin ung mga products na made here so that we can all be proud of Filipino worksmanship:
1. Timex
2. Starter apparel

i really depends imho... may mga pinoy made na good and bad ang quality... same thing sa china.. may good and bad quality products din... coz in the end dalawang type of market lang naman yan.. yung mga gusto makatipid at ok na yung low quality or yung mga tipong kahit magbayad ng medyo mahal as long na may quality

October 23rd, 2007 02:00 AM #4I do understand about cutting on expenses to boost margins pero if you're a premium brand, why sacrifice the name of your brand?
Pero pansin ko lang, some people just look at the brand just for the heck of having one.
