    SPEED LIMIT

    Any person driving a motor vehicle on a highway shall drive the same at careful and prudent speed, not greater nor less than what is reasonable and proper, having due regard for the traffic, the width of the highway and any other condition then and there existing, and no person shall drive any motor vehicle upon a highway at such speed as to endanger the life, limb and property of any person, nor at a speed greater than will permit him to bring the vehicle to stop within the assured clear distance ahead.

    PRESCRIBED RATE OF SPEED AS PER SECTION 35 OF REPUBLIC ACT 4136 KNOWN AS THE LAND TRANSPORTATION & TRAFFIC CODE:


    On open country roads with no "Blind Corners" not closely bordered by habitations.
    80 km/hour (passenger cars & motorcycles) 50 km/hour (trucks and buses)


    On "Through Streets" or Boulevards, clear of traffic with no "Blind Corners", when so designated.
    40 km/hour (passenger cars & motorcycles) 30 km/hour (trucks and buses)


    On city and municipal streets with light traffic, when not designated "Through Streets".
    30 km/hour (passenger cars & motorcycles) 30 km/hour (trucks and buses)


    Through crowded streets approaching intersections at "Blind Corners", passing school zones, passing other vehicles which are stationary or for similar dangerous circumstances.
    30 km/hour (passenger cars & motorcycles) 20 km/hour (trucks and buses)

    kailan pa kaya tayo makarating sa patutungohan natin kung ganyan ang speed? ano iyan parada ng patay...

    siguro iyan batas na iyan ay circa 1950's na nabaon sa limot at ngayon lang nilabas...

    Si Marcos pa kasi ang pumirma sa batas na yan..

    Dapat jan amyendahan na.

    Kaya sa states legal ang 70-90 MPH.

    Sa tindi ng traffic, di siguro tayo aabot sa speed limit na yan, pano ka makatakbo ng mabilis e traffic naman palagi

    ok padin naman yan.alangan naman lahat ng daan me naglelaser para lang makuha actual speed mo..dito nga strict na sila pero dipadin nasusunod yong standard nila na 35kph all around the island e.

    IMO, those are just "prescribed" speed limits. Di naman praktikal na sundin natin yan.

    I agree na dapat i-ammend na to. Sa US dati 55mph ang blanket speed limit pero noong 2001 ata tinaas sa 75mph. Kung 75mph sana dito sarap nun! Mga 120kmh yun.

    Yung hassle kasi, kahit na "prescribed" yung limit, pwede ka hulihin anytime ng kotong cops at sabihin "reckless driving" ka, dahil yung 60kmh ay excessive speed na.
