An elaborate chandelier lights up a ceremonial function at Malacanang palace yesterday. President Arroyo is to ask Congress for emergency powers to impose mandatory energy conservation measures, including fuel rationing, amid record-high oil prices

hehe.. oo nga naman. dapat it should start in your own backyard.
bdw, kung daily kayong dumadaan c5 kalayaan. or kahit silipin nyo lang ang kalayaan from c5 intersection, ARAW-ARAW between 6:15-6:30 am bukas pa ang lamp posts. kahit sobrang liwanag na.
even my 7 y.o. son noticed that. at daily nya sinasabi 'who will turn off the lights?'...

We have no future with this government. Hindi ko alam why is it that the people are not forcing this administration to resign.

Hmm..... didn't they just changed those chandelier lights with lower-energy bulbs???

There was a picture of that sa Philippine Star noong 5 o 7 days ago na there were maintenance crews/personnel that were doing some changes & adjustments to the chandeliers in the Palace.

We are not even sure whether that chandelier has been hanging inside the Palace for years even before this energy crisis. Remember, its a Palace where dignitaries and official government functions are held, like state dinners.

We are not even sure whether the cost of tearing down that chandelier and replacing it with hundreds of OMNI daylight bulbs will actually cost less.

So the way we make conclusions based on a single photograph reflects our cynical attitude which is, again, politically-motivated rather than a genuine concern to conserve energy.
