I think the rampant use of photoshop retouching in today's local men's mags (FHM, Maxim, etc) are because of the increased need to get the girls looks up to par with our idea of what is beautiful. Which only makes it more obvious that there is a shortage of cover girls beautiful enough NOT to need a major retouch job.
