Maaaring sa ibang kurso, like Arts puwede,- pero sa Sciences like engineering and others, to be consistent with being globally competitive, dapat ganoon...

Pretty much. Our college grads who go to the US have trouble getting in because of a lack of units... because they count High School, too.

Let's try to translate this into a simple eq.
Total number of yrs for both system = 13

    K + G(1......12) = N + K1 + K2 + G(1....10);

If K=K2 then final eq. would be

    G11 + G12 = N + K1

by how much yung diff sa tuition fee? depende sa school kung saan pumapasok ang mga anak natin
pero di hamak na mas maraming matututunan naman marahil under the new system?
Old system - hs graduate at the age of 16
New system - hs graduate at the age of 17
So bale isang taon lang ang "nasayang"... pero it will even out if engg would be cut to 4 yrs only.
Under the new system, yung bunso ko lang ang affected dito... for me i'll embrace the change if competitive edge ang usapan

Not really with the US bro as they have more respect for our educational system and our graduates. We have a lot of colleagues who went to the US and were recognized as "engineers"... they have to take state exams though but that is understandable.

But with Canada and (probably) Australia, they are being recognized as trade school graduates only because of our lack of hs 5 and 6...... and are relegated to harder manual labor

Dito sa Oz hangang year 12 ang school. pero 9am to 3pm ang pasok, every 10 weeks meron 2 week holiday.

Here in Australia, engineers from the Philippines are recognized by Engineers Australia(EA). I am mechanical engineer here and there.

It was an issue before... which is why some courses went to five years.

Even now, some of our health course graduates cannot take licensure exams without first taking masters... ang gulo.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

true but you also have to consider tha amount of classes we have. kung ano anong subjects meron na di naman magagamit at kelangan in real life. unlike sa ibang bansa konti lang subjects, kung ano lang talaga kelangan yon lang ang bibigay sayo. nung nag highschool ako abroad major subjects lang required and 2 extra subject like P.E. and another subject of your choice. all in all in hs i only had 6 subjects, math, english, history, economics, pe and another subject of my choice every semester iniiba ko para ma subukan lahat.

another problem i see is dapat inayos muna nila mga schools kasi mga school natin lalo na public kulang na sa teacher, classroom at tables. dapat yon muna inayos nila bago nila ginawang k12.
