    Kinder plus 12 years of Basic Education



    Strictly 6yrs old na start ng grade 1 elementary unlike before na 7yrs old.

    I started nursery, then kindergarten, then prep = 3 years
    Then elementary, grades 1 to 7 = 7 years
    Then highschool = 4 years.

    Total is 14 years (+/-). I wonder what the fuss is all about with this K12 thing?

    additional of 2 years sa HS
    so if youre paying 80K tuition per year mabigat yun additional na 160K sa tuition pa lang

    Noong magsisimula mag aral ang anak ko ayaw nila tanggapin kasi hindi pa 7yrs old dahil kulang sya nang 2months.... ngayon parang delay ang anak ko nang 2yrs.

    ung mga bata ngayon 2-1/2 or 3 yrs old nagsisimula na mag-aral. kaya sa mga may asawa na at nais magka baby, paghandaan niyo ito. may kolehiyo pa pa yan after K12.

    ^Ateneo din, may Grade 7.

    I also had Nursury, Kinder, Prep, Grades 1-7, 1st-4th year HS = 14 years

    Muntikan pa ako mag-repeat nung 1st year HS.

    Ako 3rd year. We had Trigonometry, Geometry, and Chemistry! I had summer classes for chemistry. My report card was always the color of christmas (much to the dismay of my parents).... PULA! ...... :D

    Ako, first year, 2nd quarter, i could have gotten away with not attending Algebra classes. 60% (our passing is 75%)... on the system, even if you get below 60%, automatic 60% pa rin ang lalabas.

    My former boss went to DLSU. Tuwang tuwa yung mommy niya sa grades niya kasi panay uno... kala ng ermat niya na mala-UP yun grading system (1 being the highest, 4 lowest)...

    pansin ko rin yan, pag nag co-compare kami ng binabayaran ng mga officemate ko namamahalan sila sa tuition na binbayaran ko

    pero sabi naman ng DECS yun additional 2 years for HS is equivalent sa first 2 years in college
    and may plans sila to shorten naman yun College years
    well that remains to be seen

    Medyo nagkaroon na kami ng argumento niyan bro sa isang PTA...

    Sabi ko kasi, sa benchmark namin sa US, kung saan K to 12 sila at ito nga ang sinunod natin, ang engineering ay 5 years pa rin...

    Maaaring sa ibang kurso, like Arts puwede,- pero sa Sciences like engineering and others, to be consistent with being globally competitive, dapat ganoon...

    Ayaw ko kasi ang tema ng speaker,- pinapaasa ang mga magulang sa wala para lang maibenta ang kanilang sistema....
